The senior choir led in the ministry of music and a trio of Donna Martin, Brenda Harris and Martie Lobb sang several Christmas numbers. The offering was received and sent to the Bible Society. News, and notes On Tuesday evening, several carolers were heard in Holmesville, going about the village, singing carols and were enjoyed by many. Jean and Clarence Perdue held Christmas at their home and guests ....included_Munray .,„D-ebbie- and Gerry Perdue of London, Don and Bonnie, Sean Lockwood, John and Ed and Blanche Deeves. The Goderich Township Enterprising Seniors will be holding their first • meeting of the New Year on January 8 at 2 pm in the township hall. A good attendance would be appreciated to help discuss the grant and ° equipment for the seniors' room. The January meeting of the Goderich Township WI will be held in the new hall at 2 pm. The public relations committee will be in charge with Irene Cudmore as the con- venor. Farewell service A joint farewell service was held in Wesley- Willis Church in Clinton on Sunday for Rev. John Oestreicher and his family. The Oestreichers led the service and the choir was made up of the Holmesville and Wesley - Willis churches. Following the service, a presentation was made to each member of the family and Phyllis Cox read the address. Mr. Oestreicher received a football sweater, his wife Marilyn received a hockey touque and their tons, Jonathon and Jeffrey both received hockey sticks. A special surprise gift, a beautiful . grandfather clock from the two churches was also given. Mr. and Mrs. Oestreicher thanked everyone for their 'kin- dness and help in the past and said they would treasure --their - gifts - , always. Following the service a social time was enjoyed with coffee and desserts. Personals The Abbotts of Holmesville visited in Listowel with Ann's mother on Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Norman enjoyed having their family at Christ- mas. Shirley Norman is spending her Christmas break with her parents. ° Special thoughts from the community go out to Jim Young, who is a patient in the Goderich hospital.
