The service of lessons
•and carols waeheld on
Sunday morning with the
lay- leader, Mr. Du
Baulay in charge. He
along with James Storey,
Blanche Deeves, Lois

and ay Wise read the
lesson,
Lisa and Billy Storey
sang special Christmas
selections and Rays Wise
and Edward Deeves
collected the offering.
The St. James
congregation were,sorry
to hear that their rector,
Rev. William Bennett is a

Westminister Hospital.
He is wished a speedy
recovery.

WINGHAM - Spon-
taneous combustion in
the haymow is being
blamed for starting a fire
which • destroyed a
Turnberry Township
barn on December 20.
The barn, owned by
John Norman, was full of
hay and the loss of the
structure and contents is
estimated at $30,000. Ten
'yearling steers were
rescued from the fire and
no livestock was lost.
