Huron Day Centre
exercisers are awarded

A Christmas Party, at
the Day. Care Centre on
Tuesday December 16,
was an opportunity to
honor two participants in,
a recent fund-raising
exercise-a-thon.
:Margaret Hildebrand
won a ceramic Christmas
tree made by the Centre
for raising the most
money - $500. Vicki
Guertin received an
African Violet flower pot
for gathering the most
pledges - 32. Total
amount raised in the 20 -
hour exercise-a-thon was
$1,374.95.
Joyce Dome wins •
a shining first
Winners of the house
decorating contest were:
first Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Joyce of Quebec Street;
Second Mr. and Mrs.
Glen McLauchlan of
Quebec Street; and third
Mr. and,Mrs. Web Stone
of Victoria Street.
There are so many
families that went away
or had company for
Christmas, it is im-
possible to list them all.

Two Christmas parties
had to be held this year to
accommodate the more
than 300 clients, volun-
teers and staff that have
made the Day Centre
program and fund-
raising events, such as
the exercise-a-thon, a
resounding , success in

Church goes back in time
At. the Christmas Eve
Service, the Vanastra
Christian church was
alight with numerouS
candles and transformed
back in, time when the
Christ Child was born.
The Come: Alive and
Sunday School presented
the Christmas story for
parents, neighbours and
friends. The play 'was
based4,on the, gospels of
Matthew and Luke.
