Goderich Township
Recreation Committee is
sponsoring aeverral
winter courses and
programs.

January 7 at the
Holmesville School .at 7
dancing classes will start
on Friday; January 9 and
will be held .at the
Holmesville Community
Hall from 7:30 to 9 prn.
People are invited to
come out on that night to
-see-what-the-dancing-
is all about, for a
minimual charge, or join
the 10 week program at a
cost of $40 a couple.
You can learn the basic
steps of the fox trot, the
polka, rumba and other
dances, under the in-
struction of Mr. Lewis.
Morella from Mitchell.
For others, curling will
continue in the new year
at the Vanastra Curling
Club at 8 pm. The cost is
$3 a night, you pay as you
go, and new culrers are
welcome to join in.
- Hockey will be
available for . Goderich
Township young people in
the new year.
All winter programs
will be formall ad-
vertised in the net few
weeks.
Recreation dance
On . Friday... night. .the_
Goderich Township Rec
Committee held their
first dance in the new hall
and it was very well
attended.
Everyone enjoyed
dancing to The Sprit from
Exeter and during the
evening a special
presentation was made tam ---
Graydon Neal who
retired after 16 years
working for the township.
Garnet Wright presented
him with a goldpocket
watch and chain and
Graydon thanked
township officials for the
gift.
Later in the evening a
draw was made on half a
beef and Graydon an-
nounced the first draw
winner as Karen Harman
of Bayfield. The second
draw for a quarter .of beef
was made by Norma
Grigg and won by Kay
Harris of Holmesville.
Grant Stirling made the
third draw and Larry.
Hawkins of Goderich also
won a quarter of beef. -
Anna Stirling made the
door prize draw and it
was won by Vince Young
of Goderich.
At the end of the
evening a delicious lunch
was served by the
recreation committee.

was lit at the Sunday
morning service at ,the
Holmesville United
Church.
Rev. John
Oestreicher's sermon
was entitled The Keeper
of the Inn and Gordon and
Paula Lobb and Mrs.
Wayne Tebbutt became

Tebbutt, son of Wayne
and Lois Tebbutt was
baptized. The offering
was received by Murray
Lobb and Doug Norman.
