The losing team on the penny pinchers served a delicious dessert and coffee to the winning team. +++ The Silver Threads Club of 145 James Street, Clinton held their Christmas banquet on December 11 in the lounge. The meal was excellently catered by Diane Murphy. All residents were able to attend with one,exception - and her dinner was delivered. A happy and festive time was had by all. ++ Come and join in the singing! The Festival Brass, a Stratford group. will delight a children's audience with Christmas carols at the Clinton Library on Monday, December 22 at 2 p.m. The group members will also answer questions pertaining to the in- struments used in the program. There is FREE ADMISSION to the af- ternoon event. This lively and interesting group is being sponsored by the Huron County Library and Outreach Ontario. (James Fit- zgerald photo) BEAVERS NEWS...by Mary Freeman Beavers: Colony A; Hawkeye performed the opening ceremony and so =began our program revolving around Christmas. In the first Christmas game the Beavers formed relay teams to draw Santa Claus. While Tic Tac led the Beavers in carol singing, Rusty, Bubbles, and Hawkeye prepared for the Nativity play. Greg Crawford and Andrew Walker also joined the leaders playing the parts of the Wisemen. The play ended with the singing of the carol, Away in the Manger. The Beavers then formed a circle to .unwrap' a Christmas parcel which Keith Ryan found to contain chocolate chip cookies to share with the rest of the colofly. Rusty 'then instructed the Beavers in hand crafting Christmas wreaths from macaroni and ribbons. Beavers: Colony B: Rusty from Colony A visited the colony and joined the leaders Rainbow, Sugarcube, Hawkeye, and Ra s Nativity play. Following car'oi-singing the Beavers divided into lodges to make wreaths from Christmas cards. The meeting came. to a close with sing -song games of Father Abraham, Swimming pool, and Crocodile. December 19 the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will join their sister group to go a -caroling. We welcome the public to join us in this night of singing, The Beavers will meet at the Wesley Willis church at 7 p.m. and can be picked up at the Fire Hall at -ap- proximately 8 30.
