A drive through the
Hullett Wildlife
Management Area may
have uncovered a colorful'
sight last week as 13
horses ars
part in a fox hunt, but no
foxes were in sight.
Hosted by Lynn
Flowers of Clinton,
members from the
Trolloppe Hunt Club in
London gathered in
Hullett Township on
November 27 -to take part
in the snowy afternoon
ride.
Rider's, including
several Clinton area
people, rode through the
Wildlife area with 20
hounds, under the.
leadership of the Master
of the Hunt, who comes
from England for six
months time to be master
of the hounds at the Hunt
Club in London.
The hunt was one of the
few live fox hunts that
take place in Canada..
During most hunts,
hounds follow a fox
scented trail, set out
earlier by the hunt
organizers.
Even though no fox was
found by the hounds in
Hullett, according to Miss
Flowers, a brisk af-
ternoon ride was enjoyed
and afterwards the riders
returned to the Flowers'
home for the traditional
hunt breakfast.
Miss Flowers hopes to
host another hunt in the
spring.
The team has been
fortunate in obtaining the
services of Tim Prothero,
rookie of the year in the
senior league last year. It
is hoped that a. strong
competitive team will be
built around this 22 -year-
old player. Last year he
ended up fifth in the
scoring with 53 goals and
.61 assists in 21 games.
Tim previously played
for the Toronto Benutos
Juniors and attended
university in Washington.
