Friday and the location
seems popular with the

We hope the residents

new stereo which we have
playing in various places
throughout the hohle, We

Taylor, who is living on

Helen Jannetta Pepper
A Tuckersmith
Township native and
former resident of the
area, Mrs. Helen Jan-
netta Pepper, died in
Greater Niagara General
Hospital on November 28.
She was 71 years old.
Mrs. Pepper was born
in Tuckersmith on
September 8, 1909 to
James and Lucinda Hay.
In February 1929,. she was
married to Lorne E.
Pepper in Tuckersmith
and the couplemade their
home in Niagara Falls
following their marriage.,
There, Mrs. Pepper wa a\
member of the Stamford
United Church.
She was predeceased
by her parents, husband
and one brother Lorne.
She is survived by two
sisters, Mrs. Clayton
(Margaret) Horton of
Seaforth and Mrs. Calvin
(Marjory) Horton of
Clinton.
Funeral services were
held at the Ball Funeral
Home in Clinton on
December 1. Rev. Merill
Graham of Niagara Falls
conducted the service
and interment followed in
Baird's Cemetery in
Stanley Township.
Mrs. Pepper's nephews
acted as pallbearers and
includedDon McGregor,
Jack cGregor; Bill
McGrego and Gtrald
Horton, all of Stanley
Township, Neil
McGregor of Niagara
Falls and Don Horton of
Burlington-.

Michael Hodgson ex-
changed wedding vows in
Ontario Street United
Church, Clinton on
October 25, 1980. The
bride is the daughter 'of
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Ellis of RR1 Clinton, and
the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Hodgson of Brantford,
Ontario.
Reverend Norman Pick
officiated the double ring
ceremony and Rick Snell
of London was, guest
soloist, accompanied by
Mrs. Louise McGregor of
Clinton. .
The bride's cousin,
(Karen Smith of
Mississauga, was maid of
'honor. The bridesrriaids
were Sharon Ellis, sister
of the bride ; Valerie
Hodgson, ' of Nipawin,
.Saskatchewan, the
groom's sister-in-law,
and Leslie Kennedy from
Welland, cousin of the
bride.
A brother of the groom,
John Hodgson of
Nipawin, Saskatchewan
was the best man and
guests were ushered into
the church by Ken Ellis,
brother of the bride; Jim
McMinn, ' friend of the
groom and Jamie
Hodgson, the groom's
brother.
Following the wedding,
a reception was held at
the White Carnation in
Hol mesvil le where guests
danced to the music of the
Nite-Lites. After a
honeymoon in Florida,
Mr. and Mrs. Hodgson
took up residence in
Clinton.
Prior to the wedding, a
community shower was
arranged by -Sandra
Westerhout, Verna
,...E.u.el.y.rl,
Merrill, neighbors of the
bride. As well, a stag was
organized for the groom
by Ken Ellis.
Hospital decorated
for Christmas
The regular meeting of
the Auxiliary to the
Clinton Public Hospital
was held on December 1
and as part of the
meeting Auxiliary
members decorated the
hospital for Christmas.
In other business, Kay
Hanley opened the
meeting and the
November minutes were
read by Joyce Hilderly.
In correspondence, the
hospital renovation
funding raising com-
mittee asked for the
Auxiliary's support and
requested' that a
d
Auxiliary representative
sit on the committee.
The Auxiliary also
learned that the Goderich
Recreation Department
is holding a DanceFit
demonatration night in
Clinton- Open to all area
women, the demon-
stration night will be held
at CHSS on December 8
from 8-9 pm. If enough
' interest is shown the
course, which has been
successful in Goderich, it
will be offered to Clinton
women in January.

The Summerhill Hall
Board held their first'
euchre party of the
season on November 27
with seven tables in play.
The winners for the
evening included: ladies'
high, Lorna Ellis; ladies'
low, George Colcough
(playing as a woman);
ladies' lone hands, Mrs.
Frank Riley; men's high,
Frank Riley; men's low,
Bill. Gibbings; men's lone
hands, Tillie Westerhout.
Hazel Watkins won the,
raffie.
It was decided to hold
the Christmas card party
on December 11.

chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi Sorority met last
week at the home of Rita
Van Dyke. Gail Hiltz
presented an_ interesting
program on "economy"
for the group.
Mary.. Marsh reported
for the area council and
gave the treasurer's
report.
The Sorority's
Children's Christmas
Party will be held on
December 13th, and our
Christmas Party with Zi
Epsilon w ill also be on the
same weekend, Saturday
night, at the White
Carnation. The next
meeting for Zeta Omega
will be a Christmas
meeting, complete with a
potluck supper and
Christmas gifts.
Christmas and 50th
anniversary cookbooks
are now for sale and may
be obtained from Zeta
Omega members.
Quilt tickets on a
beautiful queen -sized
quilt in brown shades, are
available from Sorority
members as well.

Preston
Visit England
Following a wedding
'trip to England, Mr. and
Mrs. John Preston have
settled into their new
home in Clinton.
The couple were
married in Clinton's
Ontario Street United
Church on November 1.
• The groom is the eldest
son of Mr. and Mrs.
Cradock Preston of
Surrey, England and the
bride, the former Debra
Gibbings, is the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Gibbings of RR 4,
Clinton.
Candelabra filled the
church for the double ring
ceremony conducted by
Rev. Norman Pick and
special music was
provided by soloist Tom
Burke and organist Gail
Lear.
For the occasion, the
bride was gowned in a
-long dusty rose colored,
silk nylon dress. The
three layered dress
featured a •v -neckline and
short sleeves. She wore a
white picture hat and
carried a bouquet of silk
flowers on a wicker fan.
Ruby Kumm of Clinton
attended the bride. She
wore a floor -length silk
nylon dress in burgandy
and carried a bouquet of
dusty rose silk flowers,
caught with ribbon on a
wicker fan.

Clinton was the best man
and guests were ushered
into the cherch by Tony
Gibbings and Dan
Merner, both of Clinton.
Following the
ceremony, a reception
was .held at the Royal
Canadian Legion in
Clinton.

formed that there would
be enough money left

wheeling and they asked.

what they could purchase
for the residents.
In other business,
Auxiliary president
Leona Lockhart opened
the meeting and stressed
the need to help others,
which in turn helps
ourselves. This, she
explained, keeps us in-
terested and involved.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by,
Jean Griffiths and" the'
treasurer's report was
given by Marion Powell.
It was reported that Mrs.
Lockhart had inquired
about getting cards for
the monthly birthday
parties and the Regal
Company donated six
