Along with their vacation, students are anxiously planning for their Christmas Concert. which will be held on Tuesday, December 16 and a limited number of tickets will be sold for the 8 pm performance. A dress . rehearsal will also be held on Monday, December 15, but no afternoon concert has been scheduled this year since the school has been divided into two concert groups this year. The Christmas show will involve the kindergarten, grades 2,4,6 and 8 along with the band and the choir. The Spring Concert will i nvo-lve the remainder of the students. Prepare for snow As we approach the season of changing weather and unexpected school closings, principal Ron McKay has a few suggestions and pointers for parents. If the school is to be closed for a day, that information . will be conveyed to the parents andguardians orf both CKNX and CFPL radio stations as early as possible in the morning. However, Mr. McKay points out that the most difficult closings occur through the day while students are already ir[' school. In the event that the school is closed and students are sent home, parents that if they feel that there is a possibility that the school will close, tune into either CKNX or CFPL and the in- formation will be broadcast. He also suggests that if - children are going home to an empty house, that parents co-operate with a neighbor, friend, or relative to provide an alternate place for the child to stay and the children should be in- formed that this could happen. Mr. McKay pointed out that the school does not intend tq make numerous telephone calls informing people about early dismissal. These, he said, 4 are time consuming and children could possibly be, home before the last calls are made. The school however will give con- sideration if parents specifically request a phone call. In a letter to parents, Mr. McKay closed by pointing out, "I'm sure that with your co- operation in the above, we will survive yet another snow belt win- ter." e •
