game was tied at 3-3

Devils and Boyds. battled
claimed the Consolation
trophy and $200 in prize
money as they defeated
the Brussels Bulls by an
8-4 score.

Raceway last week.
Zamparo, a two-year-
old colt by Best Of All -
Cinderella Butler, was
first in p,2:04.2 on
Wednesday night, while
Fleet Fighter, a five-
year-old Alley Fighter
gelding won in p,2:06.3 on
Friday night.
Driver Bill Gale was
also second with Ken-
marou Castlee in a 2:02.3
mile the same night and
finished third with Terry
Parker on Saturday night
for the Horner Stable.
Mississkippy, . a four-
year-old mare by Skippys
Pride C - .Twentieth
Century, that took a
2:05.4 pacing record
earlier this year at
Clinton, was second in a
2:04.1 mile at Windsor on
November 26. She is
owned by Winston Powell

period but turned on the
jets in the final forty
minutes and blew the Red
Devils out of the arena. -
Kim McKinnon paced the
Buckeyes with a hat trick
while Richard Schilbe
found the range twice.
The Buckeyes con-
trolled the play for much
of the game, limiting the
Red Devils to only a few
brief flurries of action at
which time the defence
played superbly. Jurgen
Hellman recorded his
third tournament victory
in goal for Zurich.

Last week, the Car-
dinals had a slight lead in
the league standings with
36 points' but the Blue
Jays were close behind
with 35 and the Penguins
weret hird with 31 points.
In individual play, Pat
Jewitt took the ladies'
high single of 301 and the
high triple of 668. Marj
Moore bowled her way to
the high average of 239.
For the men, • Ken
Johnston had the high
'single of 301 and Don
McWhinney held the high
triple of 721 and the high
single of 244.
In this week's action,
the Cardinals
strengthend their lead by
another point, leaving
them with 40 and Car-
dinals with 38. The Black-
birds have .moved up to
third place with 36 points
and the Penguins are now
fourth with 33.
The Hawks gained a
few points this week and
have 28, ahead of the
Falcons with 25. The
Canaries'are still fighting
to get out of their last
place position of 20
points.

with 732 and the high
average with 239.
For the men, Sonny

A Clinton man, and the
minor sports system in
town were the big win-
ners in the annual Clinton
Kinsmen stag and draw
last Friday night.
Mark Bell of town was
the big winner, pocketing
the $500 grand prize,
while minor sports in
town will benefit from the
$2,500 profit realized.

was very pleased with

LISTOWEL - What was

"infantile" act has cost

Mr— Mitchell, 20, of
Listowel, appeared in
provincial court in
Listowel recently and
pleaded guilty to a charge ,
of obstructing a police'
officer.
The court was informed
that on August 8, while
Sgt. Harvey Thompson
was confronting two
young men who were
interfering with detour
signs, Mr. Mitchell went
over to the police cruiser,
rolled up the window and
locked the door. The keys
were in the'ignition at the
time.
As a result, the cruiser
was . inaccessible for
about 20 minutes.
Judge Reilly asked Mr.
Mitchell to consider what
the consequences might
have been`l if there had
been an emergency and
the cruiser had been
required immediately.
"I want you to kiok
yourself in -. the butt
whenever you remember
this," the judge warned.
