In the past week grocery shoppers hi -Clinton and area
have seen the square footage of shopping space nearly
double to half an acre as both Corrie's Red and White and
Kuenzig's IGA officially opened their new additions.
Corries had huge crowds for their official opening sale.
While this -week, the IGA is officially opening their ad- feet. Both stores are offering a larger selection and say
diton, which brings their square footage to over 10,000 their prices are in many cases, lower• than the chain

The Clinton Legion this
week announced the
winners of their annual
Remembrance Day
literary con st, from the
39 entries su mitted, with
a first prix of $10, a
second of $7 and third of
$3. .
in the senior poetry
division, Rachel Battye
was first, Paul Hartman
second, and Christine
Carter third, while in
prose, Brian Chessell was
tops followed by Nancy
McInnes and Darryl Fox.
All are Grade 13 students
at Central • Huron
Secondary School.
In the intermediate
division Winners were:

Bill Jewitt, Grade 9,

BEAVERS: Colony A:
Rusty read the
mysterious story of
`Tailypo" before the
'Beavers divided • into
lodges to handicraft their
own "Tailypo" _ which
they proudly took home to
share with Momrand Dad.
Hawkeye and Tic Tac
tested coordination and
led the Beavers in "Back-
ward Relay". Leader
Chopper also shared in
the fun with a quiet game
of "Remove the Tail".
"Morf" came out of his
Brown Bag Bungalow to
visit the Beavers for
Sharing Session. Scott
Wilson shared his coin
book and Toby St. Louis
his stuffed Beaver.
BEAVERS: Colony B:
Rusty performed the
opening ceremony and
introduced the Beavers to
a fun game of "Snap
Hockey". Special visitor,
Assistant District
Commissioner_. Ross
Hallam w,as on hand to
share in the action songs
of "The Muffin Man" and
"Little Rabbit Fu Fu".
Floppy was also in-
troduced as the Colony's
new sharing pal.
CUBS: Pantomimes
are an excellent way to
let off steam show
imagination and acting
skills. The cubs divided
into groups to demon-
strate their acting
abilities in pantomimes
of "Do's and Don'ts. The
Cubs then discussed their
various ceremonies
before dividing into
groups to do star -work.
To fulfill the
requirements for black
star Raksha invited her
group to her home last
Saturddr tt ptafit ,flower
beds.
SCOUTS: Scouts have
been busy .in the last few
weeks with inductions,
the Remembrance Day
Parade, and the Scouting
program.
On Wednesday,
November 5, several hew
Scouts were inducted into
the troop. Craig and Jeff
McIntosh transferred
into the Clinton troop
from the 1st Stratford
Troop, and Bryan
Thomas trandeerred la
from the 1st Vanastra
Troop.
The following boys
underwent official in-
vestiture ceremonies, as
they were joining Scouts
for the first time. . David
Andrews, James
Cameron, Aaron Clogg,
Michael Hallam, John
Lavis, Paul Lippincott,
Steve Lippincott, Jeff
MacLean, Dave Reidy,
Michael Tait, and Chris
Watt.
All of the new Scouts
were officially welcomed
by the leaders, and the
patrol leaders.
At the beginning of the
investiture ceremonies,
Doug St. Louis was in-
vested as_ba Scout Leader.
Leaders, well as the
boys, have to make a
commitment to the Scout
Promise and Law.
In program for the last
two weeks ropework, first
aid, and ceremonial
procedures have been
wor ed on.
Fund raising for CJ 81
continues, and your
assistance in these en-
deavours in greatly
appreciated. Scouts have
a limited number of
Christmas candles
available at this time,
and may be asking for
your support.
