H r 18 a is survived by his wife, the former Edythe Howlett and by his daughters Marilyn Pic and Jeryn MoKeoWn, - Dr. Reid was born on a farm near Varna in 1894. He was the son of the late John W. Reid and the former Margaret Elliott and brother of the late Wilmer Reid. Mr. Cudmore died in Clinton Public Hospital on November 17 at the age .of 69. Mr, Cudflore was born in Caledonia to John and Emma Cudmore on May 6, 1911 and he moved to the Clinton area were he (Frank Phillips photo) Mr. and Mrs. Steve Andrews Fall nuptials St. Joseph's Church in Stratford was the setting on November 14 when Steve Andrews and Marianne Klaver ex- changed wedding vows. The groom is the son of " Mr. and Mrs. George Andrews of "Stratford and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klaver of RR 4, Clinton. Rev. Beck officiated at the evening wedding and for the ceremony, the -bride -w-as gowned in a quiana jersey dress that featured a high neckline, chantilly lace inset bodice and long lace sleeves. She wore a juliet cap and matching .fingertip veil and carried a cascade of silk coral roses, carnations and star flowers with cream and white vanda orchids against brown leather fern, with white statice and coral and white satin lace ribbon. A sister of the bride, Janice Klaver of Clinton was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Debbie Greve and Lynn Andrews, sisters of the groom, from Stratford and Joanne Miller, a friend of the bride from Edmonton, Alberta. Chrissy Andrews, a niece of the groom from Stratford, was the flowergirl and the ring was carried by Kevin Klaver, a son of the bride from Stratford. A friend of the _groom, Ken Albert of Galt, was the best man and guests were ushered into the - churchby-Gary-Greve, a brother-in-law of the groom from Stratford; Wade Andrews, a brother of the groom from Stratford and Ed Shuett, a friend of the groom from London. Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Legion Hall in Stratford and guests attending the wedding came from Elliott Lake, Lavack, Brantford, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Goderich, Bothwell, London, Clinton and the surrounding area. The Andrews are now making their new home at 148 Douro Street in Stratford. Murray of Owen Sound. Also surviving are four nieces Mrs. Tom (Joan) Colquhoun of Clinton, Mrs. Ron (Helen) Mossop of Calgary, Alberta, Roberta Clements and Freda McLeod, both of Owen Sound and 12 great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on November 12 at also survived by two grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Doug (Marion) Ward of Clinton and Mrs. Sidney (Thelma) ' Brown of Willowdale and a brother Charles of Burlington. He was predeceased by a sister Reta and a brother Earl. Rev. John Oestreicher conducted the funeral and was a member of the United Church there. He worked on the main- tenance crew with the Canadian National Railways and in 1937 he was married to Irene Smith in Bayfield. Mr, Cudmore is sur- vived by his wife and one son Paul of Ottawa. He is the Trinity Anglican Church in Bayfield with Rev. William Bennett officiating. Interment followed in the Bayfield cemetery. The pallbearers were Don McLeod, Bill Parker, Ken Brandon and Joe Brandon all of Bayfield, Bill McLeod of Clinton and Bob Waltenburgh of Owen Sound. services and interment The flower bearers followed in the Clinton .were- _-Ros:s--....Gra i -g- o f —Cemetery_ Choir enjoye "Let Me Be Worthy" was the choir's anthem at the Sunday morning service. The .. residents are looking forward to next Sunday when there will be a 20 male choir from Blyth in attendance. At , seven Sunday evening, the Christian Reform Choir+sang in the chapel. All were pleased that so many of the residents attended the service to hear the choir. All enjoyed the music of Molly Cox assisted by Mrs. Alberta Driver playing her violin at the old time music program on Monday afternoon. Mr. Archibald con- . ducted a woodworking class _ on - Tuesday --_mor- ning while on Tuesday afternoon, ceramics were painted in the craft room. The residents are busy trying to fill their orders for Christmas. At the birthday party on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Gladys Van Egmond was at the piano with Elgin Nott playing the violin and Hugh Hodges playing the guitar for the afternoon's en- tertainment. Little Wendy Watson did some tap dancing for the residents. Mrs. Elsie Henderson took over on the piano and Mrs. Van Egmond took up the violin and played along with the men. He spoke on the church as the ministry of service in the spirit of Jesus and gave a comprehensive explanation of the structure of the church. Mr. Oestreicher said that the church management includes the General Council whd meet every three years. Another level in the church is the Conference.. There are 12 Conferences across C an sad a.. _..and Willis belongs to the London Conference. At ,the Presbytery level, Wesley -Willis is part of the Huron -Perth Presbytery and Wesley's chairman delegate to the committee is Mrs. Jean Ginn from ,the Holrnrest'ille United Church charge. Mr. Oestreicher said that there are 4,271 United Churches across Canada , with over 1,900 ordained ministers. For his interesting and information talk, Mr. Oestricchcr was presented with a gift by Successful bazaar The Evening Unit of the Ontario Street UCW met on November 24. Evelyn Merrill and d her group led in devotionsand Nina Inkley gave a reading, followed by the scripture read by Margaret Ball. Mrs. Merrill spoke about Partners in Crisis and told about the work of Robin Smith. Mrs. Inkley followed with some thoughts on the family and whether they are a blessing or a curse. Discussion groups were then formed and each group discussed the topics more fully. Edna Wheeler chaired the business meeting and monthly reports were given and a favorable bazaar report was given. Members were reminded of the new Ontario Street memorial fund cards at the in the local funeral homes. These are availablein lieu of flowers to anyonek, wishing to use 'them. The Christmas meeting will be held on December 15, so please note the change in date. All lad s are invited to come and enjoy a special time together. Christmas boxes for the shut-ins are to be packed on December 15 at 1 pm. Volunteers are -still needed to help with this prefect. The. UCW members are reminded to bring in their pennies and give them to the team captains before the year's end. The senior citizens banquet will be catered to -by the -E-veningUmtun December T0.
