a new shuttle service is
set to, start up and will
provide an economical
way for people to get
around town.
A shuttle bus will make
twocircuits: :a in town,
morning andafternoon,
picking up passengers at
a nuzuber of collection
points. After dropping
thein off, the bus will
return two hours later to
pick the people up and
return them home.
To start, a small, van -
type school bus will be
-used, -bur -if the gerVi e-
proves successful, plans
call for acquiring a new
bus outfitted for handling
wheelchairs.
At the beginning, the
fee for a ride will be $1
each way but a gover-
nment subsidy eventually
could bring the • price
down.
Snowmobile
safety course °
is offered
BLYTH - For the second
year in a row, a
gnowmobilers safety
course is being offered in
Blyth.
Last year the -course,
offered by the Auburn,
Snowmobile Club, at-
tracted 27 participants,
all who passed with the
required 80 per cent or
higher score.
Anyone 12 years or
older can take the two -
session course which will
be held on December 7
and December 14. The
cost is $8 per student and
this includes a manual
and. license after com-
pleting the course.

Bayfield
curlers are
well into
season play
The Bayfield Mixed
Curling Club held their
third week of regular
season play at the arena
on 'Sunday night with all
12 rinks in action.
In the early draw, the
Bill Talbot rink defeated
.the Alice Brandon rink;
the Matty Francis rink
defeated the Don Lindsay
rink and the Joe Koene
rink defeated the Roy
Telford rink.
In the late draw: the
Joe Brandon, rink were
winners over the George
Telford rink, while the
Scotty McVean rink
downed the Bob Orr rink
and the Morris Sauve
rink (with Bill Mcllwain
as skip) downed the
Gerry Uniac rink.
After three weeks of
play, the Matty Francis
foursome- lead the
standings with 531/2
points, followed closely
by Morris Sauve with 531/4
and Don Lindsay with 39.
Last Saturday night,
the sharpshooters of the
Lampoon Hockey League
battled it out at the arena.
The Oldtimers were led
by Stormin' Normin',
who banged in seven
goals on the way to a 16 to
six rout of the Rink Mice.
For the second week in
a row, Larouche scored
the winning goal as he
deked Mouse goaltender
Greg 'possum' Neilsen on,
a breakaway. Brownie
Barb, the 'possum' and
the kid all had a pair of
goals for the Rink.Mice in
a losing cause. Star
forward Larouche
received a shoulder in-
jury late in the .contest
and will miss the next
outing of the Oldtimers,
who lead the standings
with two wins and no
losses.
