Sorry about the laVic of
a Collin= last week, but
wilt try to catch up on any
significant happenings, in
the next week or so.
My first duty this week
will be to remind
everyone of the ArmistiCe
Social which is to take
place this Saturday
evening at the Legion.
While you are at it, you
can also Mark your
Alalendar for "Pub Nite"
Wt the hall. Tune up your
vocal chords and get
ready for the sing along,
which should get started
at around 9 p.m.
The Affiliate and
Honorary Euchre
Tournament for Zone Ci
took plfice at Brussels on
November land our team
----took-second-pia
Jenkins, Jake DeRuyter;
Clayton Ellis, and Bill
Marsh lost to Exeter, but
their second place finish
qualifies\them to play in
the District Tournament
which will be held in
Clinton on Saturday,
March 14th. I hope you
guys have a bunch of luck
on that day.
Apparently, on October
28th Ivan Hoggart and
Graham Yeats tied for
top scores with an
amazing 89 - but - ac-
cording, to the note, they
• had a lot of help from--
•their partners. Gary Weir
won lone hands with six
and Ted Fothergill turned
in a 52 for the low score.
There were 16 tables
playing at the October
28th tournament. On
November 4th, we had 17
tables_ playing and the
results were: George
• Louch - high with 87; Wat
Webster - lone hands with
six; and Dave Anstett -
low score with 47.
And while I'm talking
about Euchre, there is a
Ladies Mixed Euchre
Party on Friday night at
8:30 p.m. Blanche asked
me to give everyone a
push so we have a good
turnout. It's really
frustrating for the
organizers to go to a lot of
work and not have
anyone show up. •
The November llth
service at •the tenot4ppi._
was heartwarming
despite the cold blustery
day. Rev. Broadfoot and
Rev. Youmatoff of-
ficiated at the ceremony
which was well attended
by Legion members.
Several. veterans ex-
pressed their pleasure
with the excellent turnout
from -the - Scouting
organization including
both boys and girls. They
were very moved by the
fact that these young
people recognize the
significance of
Remembrance Day. I
also would like to per-
sonally, and on behalf of
the Legion, thank all
those youngsters who
showed their ap-
preciation by marching
in the parade.
I've been informed that
just recently, • three
Legioris have had their
liquor licence suspended
for a week by the
L.C.B.O. Apparently,
Liquor Inspectors have
been served drinks
without beingasked for

EXETER - It won't come
as news to some area
residents that the Exeter
OPP now have a
"moving" radar device
which can be operated
from a moving cruiser.
The people to whom it
Swon't be news are the 50
who were charged with
speeding over the
weekend through use of
the new device.
OPP Cpls. Dave
Woodward and Bill
Freeth said that the
radar has a good range to
pick up oncoming traffic.
The bigger the vehicle,
