Bake a batch...
CRACKER JACK COOKIES
BROWNIE" MIX FOR STORING
4cups flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
4 cups white sugar
1 cup cocoa
11/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Put in plastic bag and shake, well. This will
keep indefinitely.
When needed take: one-third cup butter or
shortening, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 egg, 13/4 cup of above
mix. Add enough cold water to make a smooth
batter. Lastly add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Bake

BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine
Add 1 cup lightly -packed brown sugar
Blend thoroughly and cool to lukewarm
Add 1 egg and 11/2 tsp. vanilla and beat well.
Blend or sift together:
3/ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp.. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Add to creamed mixture and combine well.
Stir in 1/4 cup chopped nuts.
Spread in greased 8" square pan. Bake at 350
degrees F for about 20 minutes.
When cool frost with butter icing.

SAUCEPAN COOKIES
2 eggs, beaten
lc. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. fine coconut
2 c. Graham wafers (rolled)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. cherries
Combine eggs, sugar and butter and -heat to
boiling. Stir in other ingredients and press in
pan. May be covered with butter icing if desired.
Store in refrigerator and cut in squares.

MAGIC COOKIE BARS
1/2 c. butteror margarine
11/2 c. Graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened Condensed milk
1 c. chopped walnuts
6 oz. package semi -sweet chocolate chips
31/2 oz. flaked coconut. •
Preheat oven to • 350 degrees. In 13 in x 9 in.
baking dish melt butter. 'Sprinkle crumbs over
butter. Pour sweetened milk evenly over
crumbs. Top evenly with chocolate chips,
coconuts and walnuts. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or
until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before
cutting. Loosely, cover any leftovers. •

2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sada
2 cups oatmeal
l cup coconut
2 cups rice krispies
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Mix in
oatmeal, coconut and rice krispies.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

QUICK GINGER COOKIES
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
4tbspn. molasses
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
' 2c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
dream shortening, add sugar, egg and
molasses, Add dry ingredients. Make small
balls, roll in white sugar and press with fork.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 -10 min.
