Ten Canadian Sunfish sailors are eligible to Mpete o in the I2th Sunfish World Cham- pionships to be sailed in Sardinia in mid May of 1981. The championship', being held for the ' first time in Italy and only the second time in Europe, is being sponsored by another Sunfish licensee, Ten . Cate Sports of Holland. Sunfish sailors interested in par- ticipating should send their Sunfish resumes to the Sunfish Class Association, Office. Cubs Saturday, October 25 is Apple Day and to prepare for this event the cubs are asked to meet at Akela's house at 6 p.m. to polish apples. The cubs must bring a six quart basket covered,with.tin foil that night. Some of the older cubs will be selling apples in Seaforth that evening. On Monday, October 27 there will be a Halloween Party with prizes for costumes. Films will be shown. Brownies .After the regular opening the Brownies worked on their Tweeny, Golden Hand and. Golden Bar. A Halloween Party is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28 with prizes for the best costumes. Guides At the meeting th Tenderfeet were taug the requirements fo investment and the othe girls worked on the Voyager and .Adventur Challenges. Due to lack of par ticipation the Guides wi not put any crafts in th Christmas •Bazaar o November 22 however since this is one of the fe events we can •rais money at we are askin all Guides and thei mothers to submit an item of baking for a bake table in the bazaar. The district bake sale is Saturday, October 25 at the Clinton Town Hall at 10 a.m. All Guides, Brownies and Path- finders are to submit two items of baking for this sale. Proceeds go towards purchasing camping equipment which is a desperate need. The doors will be open at 7 p.m. It's hoped . that every parent in the community will take this , opportunity to come up to the school and meet the 1980-81 staff. Now that cross country is over the trampoline club will be starting. This club will meet Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:15. Top Cat T -Shirts will be ordered again this fall if sufficient interest exists. If you are interested in purchasing -one of these shirts drop into the office and pick up an order blank. Again this year the school would like a to enter a float in the Goderich Santa Claus Parade. The theme this year is A Child's Christmas. ,If you have any ideas in. the area of float design please let the school know. Tuckersmith Day Nursery On Thursday, October 30 the Tuckersmith Day Nursery is having an open house from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. It is hoped that all the parents and children can make it. The e • rooms will be decorated ht , with Halloween crafts r that the children have r made. They will be eager to show mom and dad e what they do all day. Everyone is welcome; relatives, older brothers 11 sisters, neighbours and e anyone interested in what n is going.... -on at -the _ _Day Nursery. This is a good W chance for parents, e, planning to send their g children to see what the r nursery is all about. Susan Norris has left the staff to take a position at the Ann. Hathaway Day Nursery in Stratford. She is wished the best of luck. The new teacher is Marilyn Koehler of RR 4, Walton. Marilyn graduated from Lambton , College in Sarnia last spring " and started working at the nursery on October 14. These Youth Nights are • sponsored by the Vanastra and District Lioness Club and the next one is scheduled for Friday, November 14 at the Vanastra Recreation Centre from 7 - 10 p.m. Admission is $1. PATHFINDERS A Halloween Party is scheduled for October 29 at the Vanastra Christian Church with the Guides. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes. Path- finders is also planning a table in the Christmas Bazaar to be held in the Vanastra Recreation Centre on Saturday, November 22. They are also planning an outing to the OPP station in Goderich in the future. Meetings are now taking place at Carol McIlveen's or Marion Hohner's'house. Scouts - Registration was held on October 20. at the Vanastra Christian Church.
