awarded during the evening•and the Gederich's Garb and Gear captain Jean 9

Rummage Sale
Clinton Public School
had a rummage and bake
sale on October 18th. In it,
the Grade Eights donated
variousitems to the sale.
The . total amount
earned was $200, which
will go towards our trip to
Ottawa.

The Grade Eights have
planned a trip to Ottawa
wick will be held from
May 5th,to May 7th.
Some of the highlights
will be a tour through the
Parliament "Buildings,
the *War Museum, the
National Arts Centre, the
Ottawa and Laurier
House, the Museum of
Science and Technology
and free time.
The $1,.000 raised so far,
by group projects, bake
and -or rummage sales
and several other money
making projects, will be
going towards . the trip
and should be tripled if
we hope to pay for
everything by May.

The Grade five to eight
students of C.P.S. are
selling fresh Florida
oranges and grapefruit as.
a fund 'raising campaign
this year.
Students are taking
orders,"- with" a down
payments from October
24 - Nov. 3. Delivery will
be in early ' December.
These oranges and
grapefruit are only three
to five days * old when
delivered, and will keep
for three to five weeks at.

Seaforth curling news
There has 4een a lot of vigorous activity
around the Seaforth Curling Club during this
past week to get everything in top shape for the
upcoming season..
e opening breakfast on October 26th will
give everyone the opportunity to renew
acquaintances and meet the new menmhers.
Breakfast willbe served at 40 a.m. and noon with
some fun curling after each sitting. This should
give all members a few ends to "warm up" their
curling brooms before getting down to the
.serious business of regular May. If there are any .
members planning to attend the breakfast, but
who have not yet been contacted by the social
committee, please call Steve Brown at 482-7745
or John Moore at 348-9067 to let them know you'll
be there.
An instructional clinic will be held on October
23 at -8 p.m. This will give new members arc' op-
portunity fo learn curling techniques before
taking to the ice in regular games. The clinic is
also open to anyother members wishing to brush
up on their game. Members are also reminded
that they are welcome to come out to the Club'
prior to regular season schedule if they would
like to practise. The ice is in good shape and all
ready to be used.
The first draw of the regular season will begin
on October 27 with men's curling. The ladies and
junior curling. will begin on Tuesday afternoon
arid evening -respectively and Mixed Curling will
commence the latter part of the week. Competitive curling should be underway'the second
week, teams are still needed to complete the
draw, If you are planning to enter a competitive
team contact Bill Fleming at 482-7336.
The annual pot -luck supper is scheduled to be
held at--th-e-rclub on Saturday, November 8. All
members are invited: More information on this
next week.
Over the past few years Seaforth has become
recognized as the ' host of many successful
Bonspiels. This year will be no exceptionand
there is the usual line-up of spiels already in the
works. In addition, Seaforth has one. two-day
bonspiel planned and it should attract some
really fine competition to our town. This is the
cash spiel, on November 15 and 16. It will take
the form of a double -knockout with some good
prize -money going to the winners. This will be a
great opportunity for spectators to visit the club
and see some top flight curling. Some of the best
teams in a 75 mile radius will be participating.
