in severe fire
KINCARDINE - An all
night blaze caused
$175,000 in damages to
three places of business
in Kinciirdine recently.
Gord's. Discount
received $00,000. in
damages, while , the
Highland. Taxi was
burned to the tune of of
$83,000 and the offces of
Dr. Hickling had moke
and water daa e of
about $2,000.
Twenty members of the
Kincardine Fire
Department and three
volunteers battled the
blazes all night, which
started in the rear of the
Highland Taxi. building.
Cause of the devestating
blaze has been blamed on
a lighted match or
cigarette which had been
dropped into a pile of
cleaning material.
Gord's Discount, which
was completely
destroyed by the flames
and smoke, won't rebuild
and according to owner
Gord Beutenmiller of
Exeter, the costs to
rebuild and the high
interest rates. will force

The bright yellow six-
inch pipe will reinforce
service to the. Clinton-
Goderich area.
Beginning • almost ' at
Highway 8, the completed
line will tie into the
Goderich line at the
railway tracks, tunnel
ahead to Highway 4;
make a left turn for about
300 feet and tie into the
Clinton line, a total
distance of 16,770 metres
or about 10 rn iles.
The additional line will
increase the volume of
gas to present and future
customers in the Clinton-
Goderich area.
