HURON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION will be received by the undersigned Commencing on Thursday. October 16th and until 3 P.M., E.S.T. on MONDAY, OCTOBER 20th, 1980 Nominees must be a Separate School Supporter and may betrom any of the following municipalities: A.shfleld, Colborne, Grey, Hawick, Hullett, McKillop, Morris, Turnberry, East Wawanosh, West Wawanosh, Myth, Brussols, Seaforth, Wingham and Town of Gdderich.' One representative to be elected. Required nomination forms may be obtained from any Municipal Clerk's Office. Larry J. The Reverend William Craven was in 'charger assisted by Tames Towe and Derrick Cartwright. The service of song was led by the organist, Mrs. Murray Nesbittand the choir composed of members of the Anglican Girls' Club. In his message, Mr. Craven stressed that Canadians. should be very, very grateful for the bountiful harvest and. that everyone should be ready to share the abundance. He stated that ,'Canadians have been given a trust and that the responsibility should, be to help spread the word of IQod. "We are His part of His plan and His Stewards," said Mr. Craven. WALKERBUR N CLUB The Walkerburn Club held its annual meeting la Iveek ai `the'hom'e of Mrs. Garth McClinchey. Mrs. Tom Cunningham opened the. meeting with a poem and led in the Lord's Prayer. The minutes of the June meeting and the July picnic were accepted as read by the secretary, Mrs. Lloyd Penfound. Roll call was answered by the payment of dues and donations to the group's foster child. Treasurer, Mrs. Garth iMIGClinchey, stated that there was a good balance on hand and the support of the child had beenrpaid up to the end of October. ' The draw prize donated by Mrs. Roy Daer was won by Mrs. Art Wright. Plans were. made for the.. ..ne t_ iueetin.g _on October 28 at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Elliott Lapp. Program will be in the charge of Mrs. Lloyd McClinchey and Mrs. Ronald Gross. Lunch will be in the charge of Mrs. Marian Hunking and Mrs. Stewart Ball. There will be ' a produce and bake sale and each member is, asked to bring a guest. Members decided to send money for birthday and Christmas gifts for the foster child and extra -money for a child who has no foster parents. AI new -slate of officers was elected for ' a two year term: co -presidents - are Mrs. Lloyd Penfound and Mrs. Keith Lapp; eere-tar-y-Mr Marian Hunking; assistant -Mrs. Elliott Lapp; treasurer - Mrs. Ted Hunking; assistant -Mrs. Garth McClinchey. Unit One prepared the program and Mrs. Gerald 'McDowell presided. She,. was assisted by Mrs, Peter Verbeek and Mrs. Emmerson Rodger with a meditation on The Unknown Voice. Mrs, Dorothy Grange introduced the guest speaker, Mrs: Ruth Axman of Walton. She is the convener of the Church in Society for this area, the Huron -Perth Presbytery. Her message dealt with rnaily-pliatses ofwork,that , come under this heading including the social, moral and political issues of the boat people, the Quebec crisis, and t.v. evangelism as it relates to United Church Women members. She reported on the success of the Seed Project to Angola that all membersmebers had supported and • urged continued support for the Nestle Boycott. President, Mrs. Peter Verbeek, conducted the business session. A revised catering price list was presented and ac- cepted. LIONS CLUB The Auburn and District Lions Club met for its regular meeting in the Auburn Community Memorial' Hall with 12 members and two guests. The 'dinner was served by the Auburn Women's Missio4nary Society. Guests were District Governor Lion Alf Schultz from Wiarton Lions Club; Lion. Wayne Williams, Wiarton Lions Club; and Lion Case Casemore of Wingham Lions. Cluby. The guest speaker, District Governor Lion Alf Shultz was introduced by Lion Fred Lawrence and thanked by Lion Jim. Schneider. The financial statement was given by treasurer Lion Doug Chamney He reviewed all accounts and his report was accepted on motion of Lion Kenneth Scott and Lion Donald Thanko-ff eying= - e r-v-ic e= will be held on October 26 was named chairman of the Health and Welfare eermittee. 1t ,WAS, announced that the next meeting will be ladies' night on October 4-H NEWS Auburn 2 4-0 C1ubheld its second meeting at 9e .home of Mrs. Toni Cunningham on October 4.
