pressive parade rode an armored

behind—bullet_ proof :.glass. --At the -
ceremony, dignitaries from neigh-
boring countries politely
congratulated the rulers ofUsserit for
their fine hum.anitarion spirit and,
generosity towards the ' people of
Astria. But . there was no sound of
Astria's beloved national anthem, and
the beautiful banners with the Lotus
flower inside the green circle on a
white field were hidden in attics and
closets waiting a better day. And
there was no laughter and fun and,
music, and no children's voices -
echoing among the rafters.
As the days went by, the Astria
resistance movement gained
momentum. New leaders emerged
among the people, persons with a
strong sense of justice and fairness to
all. Also persons with a w illingr'ie§s to
take risks, exile if necessary.
People's meetings were held in safe
and sanctified places where the long
and powerful arm of the Usserlt
rulers could not reach: -It was decided
to appeal once more to• the United
Countries-ta send-acom•mttie:
Perhaps this time, this committee
would hear the voice of the people,
and sensethe pentup emotions.
Perhaps this time the committee
would judge and speak with power, a
power befitting such an international
body. And perhaps this time the
committee would be mindful of the
weak and the poor and the few, and
the unfairness. A stirring of hope, like
a spring breeze, moved among the
people of Astria.
This is the end of my story. The
O.M.B. committee 'will hear both
sides on the issue of the proposed
bylaw No. 11-1980 on October 23. I
hope with all my heart that justice
and fairness will be done:to.the people
and community of Vanastra. -Our
fight is afight for fairness to all! ,

Hand and Tweenie work.

On September ,30, after
the opening, the girls
,,, broke into work groups
and at pow wow the
leaders asked the ,the
about some new ideas
they had tried with the
opening ceremony to
bring a little magic into
the meetings. They all
liked. it. 'They also asked
for ideas- about a hike
they're planning for
October 18..
- The girls came up with
some great ideas. The
girls did great on their
