Dickie were present at
the council meeting to
--discus-. --plaques, -- signsr-
etc. for th'e township hall
which is being con-
structed. Council agreed
to purchase a plaque
from Dickie with the
wording to be decided
upon in the future.
By-law number 13,
1980, a by-law to
authorize a tile drain
debenture of $8,400 on two
owners, was given three
readings and passed by
council.
By-law number 14,
1980, a by-law to permit
the township to sell lot 15,
plan 28, was given three
readings and passed by
council.
And by-law number 15,
1980, a by-law to permit
the township to sell the
south half of Block 'A'
Plan 25, -was given three
readings and passed by
co.un,eil.
A land severance
requested by S. McIlwain
was deferred by council
for further clarification
until the next meeting.
Accounts .totalling
$5,401.19 ' were . ordered
paid by council.
The OTEVA drain
report was . read at a
special meeting of
council on September 22.
Following a discussion on
the report, Mr. Janicek
and Mr. Beyer signed a
statement . requesting
their signatures be with-
drawn 'from the petition.
Council passed a motion
that the road _ superin-
tendent be instructed to
withdraw his signature
also. The drain therefore
failed to meet the
requirements of the
Drainage Act and a
motion was passed to
have the clerk proceed
under section 43 of the
act.
. B.W.B. Association,
represented at the
council .rneeting by Mrs.
Notho,ff, G, Stiles and J.
Stiles, presented .a list of
grievances and
suggestions from the
Association regarding
dogs, vandalism, gar-
bage collection, drains,
speed limits and con-
cealed intersections. The
by-law enforcement
officer was -instructed by
counbil to personally
check the dog situation
while the drains, speed
limits, :etc. were turned
over to the road
superintendent to in-
vestigate.
A delegation of senior
citizens headed by Mrs.
J. -Lobb---was--present-to
discuss the use of the
township hall being
constructed and its
furnishings and equip-
ment. Council passed a
motion that the Enter-
prising Seniors group be
grafted a 10 year lease to
use the township hall at $1
per year subject to the
rules, regulations and
time use schedules as
may be imposed by the
Community Centre Hall
Board.
Further ,discussion
continued on various
items that the seniors
rrl,ight obtain for the hall
such as chairs, card
tables, clocks, a piano, a
stove, a fridge, kitchen
utensils, etc.
The reeve was
authorized by council to
purchase 350 chairs from
Skeoch Office Supplies in
Goderick and, if the
tables are satisfactory, to
purchase 25 tables eight
feet long,. 12 tables four
feet long and 10 tables six
feet long for the township
hall.
A number of petitioners
asked council • what
provisions are being
made to provide another
tot playground for the
residents of Plan number
28. Council passed a
motion stating that it has
