School ready for library books
Things are pretty well
back to normal at' the
Vanastra Public School.
Our library -general
purpose room is starting
to take shape, and
everyone is waiting
patiently for the new
books to arrive from the
Huron County Library.
• Clubs are starting. Mr.
Nicholls started practices
for our cross-country
runners on Monday. So
far we have had a good
turn out. On Tuesday,
• Mrs. Cooper had the first
choir practice. We are
hoping to have a few new
activities this year. If.any
'members of the Vanastra
community have skills
• that they would like to
share with our young
• people, perhaps a • club
could 'be started with
your • help. You can
volunteer by simply
calling 482-7828.
We will be conducting
our swimming program
again this year. All of our
children from grades one
through six will be able to
take part. The cost for
eight 20 minute visits to
the pool will be $2. The
program will take place
each Friday in October as
1.4
well as the first three
Fridays in Jun&. 'Details
will be sent home to all
participating families in
the very near future.
-We are considering
ordering Top Cat T-shirts
this fall. If you would like
one of these fine quality
shirts, please let us know.
If there is enough interest
we will contact our
supplier for current
prices.
At the Vanastra Public
School, we believe that
parental understanding
of the purpose of the
many activities that take
place will contribute
greatly to the success and
happiness of each and
every child. We believe
that close co-operation
between the home and
school enhances each
child's educational ex-
perience.
From time to time'
there will be op-
portunities for you to visit
the school -classroom.
These scheduled visits
should provide parents
and teachers with the
opportunity fora mutual
exchange of information.
Interviews will be
arranged later on this
first term.
However, parents are
invited to arrange their
own interviews at any
time that they feel a need
exists for such a meeting.
Simply call 482-7828.
