At the Kippen Gun Club August 26 match with 18 shooters., John Anderson and Kevin Lamport both had 24 followed by Bert Mahaffy, Glen Mogk, John. Griedanus, Roy Lamport, John Godbolt, and Terry Baker, all with '23; Rick Schroeder, Bill Stewart,. Bryan Beer and Dan Crerar, all had 22; Mery Batkin, 21; Tim Mann, 20; Gladys McGregor, 19; Paul Giles, Linda Bell and Jamie Caldwell, 15. In a round of doubles, Kevin Lamport shot 19, Glen Mogk 15, Roy Lamport 13, Bryan Beer and John Godbolt both had 12. At the September 2 shoot 'with 16 shooters, Jack Mills, Bert Mahaffy and Jack Bell all had 25; while Calvin Christie, John Anderson, Bill Stewart, Roy Lamport and .Murray Christie all had 24; John Hessels, 23; 'Mery Batkin and Bill Simmons, 22; Al Kyle and Bryan Beer, 21; John Griedanus, 17; Dan Crerar, 15. Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Welsh Traditional wedding Yellow gladi„oli, white and peach daisies arranged on candelabra formed the setting in St. Marys Anglican Church for the July 19th wedding • of Doreen Isabel Storey and Ralph Douglas Welsh. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Charles Storey, St. Marys, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Welsh, Clinton. Rev. Keith Stokes officiated at the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long white gown of silk chiffon. The guipure lace bodice was accented by a sheer overblouse with long full .sleeves. The chapel length train fell softly from the cum- merbund waistline. The bride chose a picture hat complete with a silk illusion veil. She carried a silk floral cascade of white lilies, white roses and white agapanthus. Mrs. Lois Todd, Tillsonburg, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Mrs. Janet Stuart, and Mrs. Janice Ellis, Mississauga, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids, and Miss Charlene Stephenson, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore matching gowns of lustre glow in peach. The blouson bodice ha4luffle embroidered n ine with a full skirt. They carried crescent style silk bouquets of peach roses, yellow freezia, and white agapanthus. The best :man was Don Welsh, brother of the groom. The guests were ushered by Don Storey, brother of the bride, and Rob Wilson, cousin of the groom. Scott Storey, nephew of the bride, acted as ringbearer. Miss Carol - Robinson sang beautifully the "Wedding Song” and "Follow Me" and "Another You" during the signing of the register. Mr. Allan Borbridgewas the organist. A dinner and dance was held at St. Marys Com- munity Centre. The master of -ceremonies for the evening was Ken Storey. For travelling, the bride chose a yellow suit with white accessories. AND MRS, JOHN HART (photo by Frank Phillips) Crash kills pilot EXETER - Pilot error was cited as the cause of a single-engine airplane crash which claimed the life of a Tara area pilot at Sexsmith airport on August 30. Harvey Richard Miller of RR 2, Tara, was killed when the craft went into a nose dive as hemade his approach to the field located about two miles northwest of Exeter. He was alone in the aircraft, which exploded and was engulfed in flames. Exeter OPP Constable Jim Rogers said no defects could be found in the plane. "From what the wit - r ess said, we feel it was a pilot error, bad judgement," Constable Rogers commented. Mr. Miller was flying through hazy weather to Exeter for the annual "fly -in" in . his Aeronca Model -11 craft He was an experienced pilot.
