Crash kills pilot
EXETER - Pilot error
was cited as the cause of
a single-engine airplane
crash which claimed the
life of a Tara area pilot at
Sexsmith airport on
August 30.
Harvey Richard Miller
of RR 2, Tara, was killed
when the craft went into a
nose dive as hemade his
approach to the field
located about two miles
northwest of Exeter. He
was alone in the aircraft,
which exploded and was
engulfed in flames.
Exeter OPP Constable
Jim Rogers said no
defects could be found in
the plane.
"From what the wit -
r ess said, we feel it was a
pilot error, bad
judgement," Constable
Rogers commented.
Mr. Miller was flying
through hazy weather to
Exeter for the annual
"fly -in" in . his Aeronca
Model -11 craft He was an
experienced pilot.
