week and at last it was
possible to contact
people,

travelling being done.,

Doug and Gertrude
Feagan went to
California by car and
Marlene Forbes flew to
Germany and Swit-
zerland.
The summer was
passed w.i.tb amity
reunions, beef and pork
barbecues, bus trips,
camping and school
reunions. Murray and
Robe Lobb attended a
school reunion at
Muskoka and Bill and
Millie Lobb took in the
Old Boy's Reunion at
Kincardine. .
The east coast was
visited by the Alvin Jones
family who took in the
Hlghiand Games. Jamie
Thompson and Kerry
Johnston travelled east
also.
The north saw quite a
few from this area.
Murray and Marlene
Forbes who tried out the
Water slide . 'at
Collingwood on their trip
to visit Marlene's sister
Linda and family on
Manitoulin Island; the
Dave .Bartletts tried
camping at Cyprus Lake
Provincial Park and
Grundy Lake Provincial
Park; Bill and . Millie
Lobb spent their weekend
off at a cottage on Ber-
ford Lake near Wiarton;
Jim and Verna Lobb
returned -to the cottage
near Lake S mcoe where
they 'spent their
honeymoon a "few"
years ago then on to
Midland and over to
Collingwood to try out the
water slide.
Don and Alison Lobb
headed south to Penn-
sylvania, USA for a week
off. Dave and Madeline
Bartlett, took in the
Games at Embro.
Some visitors to the
community were Gerry
and Shirley Tebbutt from
Iowa, Jean Feagan from
northern Ontario, George
and Jean Dobison from
Colorado, Harold and
Joyce Duke from Calgary
and Don . Lobbs from
British Columbia.
Bruce and Dianne Lobb
and family have just
returned from a . very
enjoyable trip to Europe
wherethey visited with
Hank and t 3ery1 Gelling
and family'-�}'
Some spent a bit of time
in the hospital and some^
nursed broken bones at-
home but it seems like it
was a busy time.
Gertrude Feagan
hosted the September
meeting of the SS 4,
Community Club last
Wednesday evening.
Madeline Bartlett was in
charge of 'the meeting.
Roll call was answered
by the 17 members with
their
and secretary Robe Lobb
and treasurer Linda
Jones gave their reports.
The members voted to
give a gift to the Clinton
Hospital Penny Sale
which is held the end of
September.
A report on the bus trip
to Andres planned for
October 14 was given.
The. next meeting will be
held at Dianne Lobb's
house on October 8.
Faye Oakes showed her
samples of crewel stit-
chery, needlepoint and
latch hooking. Grace
Forbes and Edith Tebbutt
assisted Gertrude with
lunch.

A Hensall native now
living in London, Ontario
was a big winner in the
Wintario draw last
Thursday light;
pocketing $100,000.
Earl Bell of Gammage
Street in London, who
was born in Hensall, won
the prize in the Sep-
tember 4th draw.
He is the son of the Mrs.
Ruby Bell, who still lives
in Hensall, and the late
Glenn Bell.
