visit Goderich
GODERICH - The.
"prettiest town in
Canada" was visited by
thousands of tourists
again this summer. Over
300 tourists stopped off at
the Goderich Welcome
Centre over this past
Labor " Day weekend
alone ---usually oneof the
busiest weekends of the
summer because both
Americans and
Canadians are
celebrating a holiddy.
As of August 16, the
Welcome Centre had
been visited by close to
5,000 people, up several
hundred from the year
before.
According to Debbie
Searls, one of the four
employees at the centre
`this summer, most of the
tourists are curious about
the salt mines and the jail
and they are very im-
pressed with the size of
the museum. They also
appreciate the
cleanliness of the town as
well as its uniqueness and
sense of history
preserved in old
buildings.
