Leadersneeded
to keep Scouts active
As, summer draws to an end and thoughts turn to
returning to school the Boy. Scouts organization is
-once again brought to mind.
As many people are aware, late this spring and
summer several discussions were held in an at-
tempt to get leaders for Cubs and Scouts, However,
the attempts failed and in one last effort volun-
teerb are being sought to .lead these worthwhile
groups.
The question has been asked if leaders can be of.
either sex and the answer is definitely yes. Many
women in the community have the ability to be very
effective leaders. The organization is also willing to
change the evening—reserved- for these groups to
accommodate other"comm.unity activities, such as
ladies' bowling.
If the. Cubs and Scouts fall inactive this year,
some consideration is being given to form a general.
boy's club, with -one leader and several, assistants.
Again either men or women could help here and this
would eliminate the search for a leader for . Cubs
and another for Scouts.
If you you could help in maintaining the Scouting
activity for young men, aged 8-14, in our com-
munity, please contact Dave Overboe at 523-4416 of
any other member of the group committee.
