Mr.and Mrs. Wayne Andrews Double ring wedding Janice Marie Alexander and John Wayne -Andrews were united in marriage on August 2, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Beverly Alexander of Hensall. This double ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Stanley McDonald. Doug McNall was the soloist. The bride is the daughter of .Mr. and Mrs. Beverly Alexander. of Hensall and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Andrews of Ailsa. Craig. The maid of honor was Nancy Ryckman and the best man was Paul Gibbings: A reception was held at the Exeter Golf and Country Club. After a trip to the Pocono Mountains the couple . are residing on North Street, S. Clinton. Pink gladioli, ruby sweetheart roses, baby's, breath and candelabra decorated the Wesley.° Willis Church for the August 9 wedding of Catherine Anne Grigg and William Ackert Sterling, Cathy is the daughter of Mr. and 1VIrs. Wm. Grigg of Clinton and the groom is the son of Gwen Watson and . the late : William Sterling, The Rev. Stanley McDonald conducted the double ring ceremony and music was provided by Mrs. ,Barbara Hodgins who sang two solos, accompanied by her guitar. Cathy Potter played traditional organ music. The bri , given marriage by her father chose a white chiffon gown with a train and lace bodice bearing miniature pearls. Hex veil was attached to her matching hat. The bride carried a cascade of rubrum lilies, stephanotis, ruby sweetheart roses and pink miniatures with a haze of baby's breath. Joan Allen of London was ' maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mary Jean Ami, cousin of the bride and Linda Stirling, sister of the groom. They' wore pale pink jersey dresses with chiffon jackets and matching pink hats. They carried a colonial cluster of pink and white miniature carnations with ruby uu� sweetheart ro5es and. baby's breath', Brenda Grigg, niece of the. bride was flowergirl wearing a floor -length gown' with headpiece and carried a miniature nosegay. The groom's best man was. Steve Tyndall and the ushers were Cameron Grigg, brother of the bride, and Robert Stirling,' brother of the groom. Fraser Rowe, nephew of the groom was ring bearer. Karen Grigg presented the bride with a marriage slipper after the ceremony. The reception was held at the Clinton Legion Hall where the bride's mother greeted guests. Frank Cameron, cousin of the bride, was the master of ceremonies. Their honeymoon was spent in. the Muskoka area and they will reside at their new home in Willowdale. Prior to the wedding a shower was put on by the bride's aunts at the home "of Mrs, J. A. Addison. Linda Sterling held a shower at her mother's home in Clinton. Several parties . were hosted by nurses from the Acute Care Unit, St Michael's -.gown_gospitairr-T-oronto. Mr. and Mrs. William Sterling Brucefield woman cies Edythe Mabel Anne Bowey A London native and longtime Brucefield resident, Edythe Mabel Anne Bowey, died in Huronview on Agust 15. She was 95 years old. Miss Bowey was born near Birr in London Township on September 30, 1885. Her parents were Peter and Louise Bowey. Miss Bowey lived in London prior to corning to Brucefield 59 years ago. There she was a member of the Brucefield United Church. Miss Bowey was predeceased by one brother and four sisters. She., is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Ball Funeral Home in Clinton on August 17 with Rev. Stan McDonald• officiating. Interment followed in Baird's Cemetery. The pallbearers in- cluded . Bob Livermore, Greg Heargraves, Wayne Zapple, Paul Swan, Douglas Swan and Kevin Swan. Ron Wise, of U1tephew phltt� Bolton• �,� -. Mr. and Nick Sager Mrs. Matron of honour was Marilynne McCausland of Mississauga, a cousin Veteran dies Kenneth Walker Kenneth W. Walker died at his King Street home in - Clinton on August 11. He was 73 years old. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native served for 17 years . with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was overseas in WWII for three -and -a -half years. Mr. Walker is su ived by his wife Jean an their two children Pr'scilla MacDonald of Linton and Peter of Windsor. He is also survived by one granddaughter.
