the Benmiller Foresters.
and won. On Saturday,
Porter's 'Hill Gun Club
played their first ga'1rne
against Atwood in the
Realty World Slo-Pitch
Ball Tournament in
Benmiller and lost 1541.
Atwood wet on to cap-
ture the 'A' division
championship, so Por-
ter's Hill don't feel too
bad about losing to them.
Bright and early on
Sunday, at 8 am, Porter's
Hill played Woodall
Plumbers and with good
solid hitting, won the
game 18-5. In the af-
ternoon, they met the
Chamco Office Staff and
won. It was an excellent
game for both teams but
Porter's.. Hill finished on
top by 5-3. This win ad-
vanced the boys to the
final championship game
against _ . Ticker's
Brickers.
The Brickers jumped to
a 7-2 lead on Porter's Hill
in the first inning and the
Brickers were held
scoreless ' for 'the
remainder of the game.
In the final and last time
at bat, the team came
alive and they pounded
out six runs to win the 'B'
championship and a $100
prize.
On Saturday morning
everyone was asking
where Porter's Hill was
d on S-unda-y--everyone---_
knew it was right in the
centre of Goderich
Township.
Porter's Hill pitcher
Carl Brall was nominated
along with a player from
Bayfeld and one from
Atwood as the most
valuable player. The
Bayfield selection won
since he had more home
runs.
