Hullett teams still swinging
In the first week of
squirt play-off action, the
Orioles, Expos and Mets
all took one game leads
over the Pirates, Blue
Jays,and Yankees. Each
series continues this
week.
The pee wee boys were
victorious over the team
from Stanley Township in
their play off action and
are now waiting for an
opponent to be decided.
The midget boys came
out on tog in the rst
round of play-off ac ion
as they edged Vanastr in,
two straight games. They
are now waiting- for their
next opponent.
The Hullett midget
girls evened their series
with Stanley at one game
each with a victory in
Londesboro in Thursday:

Sportsfest, the men's slo-
pitch team played
against a team from,
Wingham with Lon -

Sportsfest
The Londesboro pee
wee girls' ball team
competed in the Sport-
sfest events in Godericn
on Sunday and the team
returned home with a
bronze medal trophy.
The . girls on the third
placing team included
Sandy Carter, Debbie
Preszcator, Deanna
Bears, Corrie Rammeloo,
Connie Hoggart, Lisa
McDonald, Lisa Duizer,
Brenda Nesbitt, Julie
Daer and Lori and Cheryl
Bromley.

At the Goderich
Sportsfest three teams
entered from Hullett. The
ladies fastball team was
edged in their first match
by a good team from
Benmiller. They came
back with a victory over
Gardiner's Dairy in a
well played game and in
their third game one bad
inning left the Hullett
ladies on the short end of
a 12-9 score.
,The ladies and coach
Robert Shaddick are to be
congratulated on a gooa
showing despite their
lack of previous play as a
team.
The Londesboro men's
slo-pitch team won their
first game on Friday
night and move,d into the
'A' division against the
Bayfield Flyers on
Saturday.
The game on Saturday
featured exciting action
as the Flyers slipped by
Londesboro in a close
one. Our men should not
feel discouraged_ as the.
Flyers went on to win the
silvermedal for their
second place finish.
Rev. Bob Scott and
Danny Jewitt completed
in the running races at
the Sportsfest. Danny

is pot luck. Sports will
start at 3 pm, followed by

Judges had a busy time choosing between the young contestants in the baby
show at the Vanastra Country Fair, but their choices were good ones. Wee
Victoria Anne Linton, daughter of Bruce and Nancy Linton of Vanastra was the
winner in the up to seven months class. Victoria Anne, left, is just a week -and -
a -half old. In the seven months to a year division, smiling Heather, 11 months
