Attie, i Everything from golf shoes to African violets, orange socks to handknitted pillows filled several tables at the Clinton Legion on Saturday for their all -day rummage sale. There was something for Legion sale raises $450. By Rene Brochu We're back from our holidays in Saskatchewan and Alberta, which had both celebrated 75 years in Confederation. They are the two youngest, yet perhaps ' the two pr'\ovinces with the greatest potential in future years. Back here at home, our Legion Branch is still one of the most active organizations in our area. It was "Flea Market Day" in our..:. Branch parking lot Saturday as the Legion and Ladies Auxiliary combined talents for the day. It was a successful venture, as the Branch netted over $450 which is destined for the Building Improvement Fund. Besides the table rental income, many of the people who renteditables donated all their proceeds to the Branch. Many thanks to all those who provided .articles for the sale and a thank you to all members who donated their time and talent at the market. Our Pipe Band is back again in the news as they and our Color Party participated in the CNE parades on both Wed- nesday and Saturday wit the massed band. What• a sight it must have been! The team which will consist of Comrades Al Pennie, Bob Draper, Brian Reeves and Don Armstrong, because ofthelow scores, will take part in the Provincial Competition which is being held in Chatham on September 13th. An important and significant change has recently taken place as at "our last Dominion Con- vention held this past summer, Associate Members now have fuii voting privileges. They may also be elected to any office in the executive board. Our Branch, to say the least, is indeed' pleased with this change in status.
