Dick Carter of Clinton has always used the charcoal
and starter fluid to cook his steaks, but now Dick
can throw away his matches and his old barbecue,
for that matter, as he is the proud new owner of a
gas operated model. Dick was presented the bar-
becue by Val Marriage, secretary of the Clinton
Minor Ball Association in a club draw to raise
funds. (Shelly McPhee photo)<

A special study to
check water , and
chemical flows in the
ground will be made by'
the ministry of the en-
vironment at the
Holmesville Landfill Site
-Wore— Marc h 1.0 —
Clinton council gave their
apporval _for the study
which must be done
before the site's license

ministry again. No final
cost has been set for the

An emergency,'
measures' plan could be
set up in Clinton. The
ministry of community
and social services is
advising .^ hunicipalities
that such a -plan, to in-
clude evacuation and
she ltetclflans, should be
devised .and approved by
councils as a bylaw.
Clerk Cam Proctor noted
and this is probably a
direct result from
emergencies ' that have
recently taken place in
the province.
Mayor Harold Lobb
noted that such a plan
was.• done on a county
basis over 20 years ago,
but all the emergency
equipment had . been
disposed of.
Council voiced no
opposition to a proposal
by the Royal Bank and
Wesley -Willis United
Church to share parking
facilities at the bank's
new site, behind the
church:
That's • what Ed and Eileen Carothers and sons
Chris and Adam have been doing for the last month.
The family stopped off at Clinton over the weekend.
