Hilderley of Clinton and the groom is the son, of Mrs. Janet Tree' and Mr. Ross Brown of London.. The Reverend James Broadfoot of Clinton, officiated at the double' ring ceremony. Traditional wedding music was played by the organist, Cathy Potter of Clinton. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore her mother's wedding dress, a graceful period gown of ivory satin styled with a moulded bodice and buttoned down the back with a collar of seed pearls and cut work. The softly gathered skirt extended into a long train. A coronet of seed pearls and flowers held the finger tip tulle illusion veil. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of white gardenias, coral roses and trailing green ivy. Matron of honor was Mrs. Wayne Bagot of Fenelon Falls, sister of the bride. She wore a long polyester gown in a coral, shade with gathered bodice, spaghetti straps, and matching jacket. She carried a crescent bouquet of coral variegated —mi"niature carnations, white fugii pours and a .haze of baby's breath. Bridesmaids were Kathy Phillips and Janet Eastman of Clinton, friends of the bride. They were gowned the same as the matron of honor. Groomsman was Douglas Brown of Lon -- don, brother of the groom. Guests were ushered into the church by Shawn Spratt, •Tom Mennill and Jinn Triantafyllou, all of Lon don . Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was 'held at the White Carnation in Holmesville which was decorated with white mums, gladioli, fugii pours and pink •carnations for the oc- casion. . Larry Elliott of London was master of ceremonies at the 'reception and.. Dr. J.M. Holmes of Mississauga, the bride's godfather, proposed a toast to the bride. The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a long gown of '()uiana silk in soft yellow mist with (Photo by Hadden's Studio) chiffon cape, outlined at the neck and gathered into an empire waist with a pearl braid. She wore a corsage of pale yellow roses. The groom's mother assisted wearing a long gown of pale green silk with a bodice of snatching French lace and a corp - sage of pale yellow roses. For a wedding trip north by car, the bride changed to a two piece white corduroy suit with royal. blue blouse trim- med in white and a corsage of red car- nations. Mr. and Mrs. David Brown will reside in London. Prior to the wedding, the bride was° feted at showers given by Mrs. L. Elliott, of London, Mrs. P. Burdick of London, Mrs. Bell and daughters, Mrs, J. Nairn and Sharon of St. Marys, and Mrs-. East- men, Miss Janet' East- man and Miss Kathy Phillips of Clinton. Whittingham in 1950. • She was also predeceased by her second husband- --- She is survived by one son Fred Whittingham of Regina, Saskatchewan; one sister, Mrs. Clifford (Mary) Epps of Clinton; one brother, William Argent of Toronto; and three. grandsons. A funeral service was held at McCallum' Funeral Home in Goderich on July 3 at 2 p.m. The Reverend R.J. Crocker officiated. Seventy-four year old Trijntje Valkenburg was born in Holland on October 3, 1905 to Mr. and Mrs, Albert Koolma. It has brought in more than the goal of $13,000 and Executive,Di-rector of the Association Don Cam- pbell said that more is yet to come. Mr. Campbell said they are "very pleased" with the results, of the cam- paign and are very grateful to chairperson Donna Greb, her army of canvassers and the many people who generously gave donations. He said that this year's total is $800 to $1,000 above last year's goal. The breakdown of contributions from the various areas is as follows:- Grand Bend and Klondike $1,848.75; Hay Township, $1,798.15; Exeter, $1,688.09; Stanley Township, $1,126.30; Stephen Township, $1,091.00; Usborne Township, $1,022.65; Lonesboro District, $951°.00; Zurich, $866.60; Thedford Area, $684.50; Tuckersmith Township, $525.00; Hensall, $347.20; Huron Park,' $184.41; Dashwood, $169.10; Seaforth, $140.00; Dies in Seaforth Mrs. James Carter Mrs. James Carter of Seaforth died Thursday, ,July 3, 1 980 at Seaforth Community` Hospital in her 95th year. She was the former Mary Jane Jarman and was married on November 1, 1916 to James Carter. The couple . farmed in Tucker smith Township until 1 96 8 when they moved to Hullett Township where they lived,with a son, John and his wife: Her husband died in ' June 1970. She continued to live with her son until going to Seaforth Manor two and a half years ago. She was a member of Northside United Church. Surviving are two sons, Lorne of RR2 Seaforth and John of Seaforth; a sister, Mrs. Annie Leitch of Clinton; eight gran- dchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. • The Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home a was in charge of the funeral held Thursday with Rev. games Vanslyke in charge.
