The Father's Day service featured the, Junior Choir frOnt Blyth, singing the story of Noah. interspersed with readings -from `Rev.. Wittick. , The piano was played by Mrs. Kai, and the choir was led by Mrs. /ittick. During the service Mrs.. Henderson and Cecil Skinner sang a' duet' accompanied by. Frank Bissett at the piano. Monday, we enjoyed the company of Wingham Happy Gang and Happy Citizens from Seaforth. Gr$eting a these senior citizens at the door were Les Fortune, George alba, an ' ` rs. ean, Scott. Our own residents at Huronview entertained our visitors with the program planned by Mrs. Elsie Henderson, ;which led off with Cecil Skinner and Elsie playing a Violin and piano duet. Mrs. Mabel Jeffrey played the piano and the men's chorus consisting of Mark Sproat, Jim ---Ruddock, Frank Bissett, qecil Skinner, and F 'i+ank Crich sang a catchy tune. Frank Bissett gave a musical reading called "Kathy Did", followed by a piano duet by Frank and Elsie. Miss Margaret McQueen sang a solo, and Elsie played her bells and made her 'doll, dance accompanied by Frankhat the piano. (News -Record photo) Furnishings dedicated at Ontario St. church On Sunday evening June 15, a very meaningful service was held to dedicate the refurbishings and beautification of the sanctuary narthex and entrance of Ontario Street United Church. Following the processional hymn, George Lavis gave the call to,worship, Margaret Caldwell gave the prayer of InvocatiOn and ,I3ill Gibson read the Epistle. Jeanette Dutot read the Gospel and the choir rendered an ,inspiring anthem ,ybuirci thee stately mansions". Bob Elliott delivered the. message in his usual capable manner. The ensemble, con- sisting of Bob Mann and Fred Lobb playing saxophones, Jerry Cox on the drums, Doris McKinley on the trumpet • accompanied by Cathy Lobb on the piano gave a beautiful rendition of "I asked the Lord". June Johns gave the dedication of the offering. Keith Tyndall, who organized the project, introduced each group as they came forward to present their individual contribution. , Mrs. Mildred Wook" Wheatley of Toronto presented the front glass doors and transom in loving memory of her husband Percival and his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Wheatley, for- mer members --of this In her remarks Mrs. Wheatley mentioned that her husband had attended Mrs. George Lavis' Sunday school class in the early 1900s. Mrs. Clayton Groves presented the new cleaning equipment on be alf of she and her h and. unnton area deaths Clifford Lobb A Goderich Township native, Clifford G. Lobb, died in Clinton hospital on June 21. He was 80 years _ Mr. Lobb was born to William and Luella Lobb in Goderich Township on October 19, 1889. He lived in the Clinton -area all his life and he ran a general store until 1941 and a shoe store until 1969. He was a past m ember of the Masonic Lodge in Clin- ton. predeceased by his wife, the former Flossie Anne Pearson,' and survived by • three children, Mrs.• • Wesley (Helen) Holland of North Delta, B.C., Everett of Edmonton, Alberta and Orville of Chatham and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Lorne (011ie) Jervis of Clinton, Mrs. Charles (Luella) Cox of Clinton, Mrs. . George (E,Isie) Hen- derson of Clintatn, Mrs. Norman (Vera) Wilson of Sarnia and Mrs. Robert (Joy) Williamson of London. One sister, Minnie and three brothers Frank, Bert aria Fred werb • predeceased by Mr. Lobb. Funeral services were held at the Beattie . Funeral Home in Clirtton on June 23 with Rev. John Oestreicher 'officiating. .` Interment followed in the, Clinton Cemeter9. The pallbearers were Peter, Doug, Richard, Walter and John Lobb and Elwin Merrill. E. Luella Johnston A teacher in the Clinton area for over 35 years, E.: Luella Johnston, died in the McCormick Nursing iHorne of London on June 15. She was bo14-1 in Auburn to Samuel and •Amelia Johnston. Miss Johnston was known by many people in the Clinton area where she taught at . SS 4 •in Ttickersmith from 1934 until 1943 and then taught at Clinton Public School from 1943 and 1970. She also taught in Londesboro - and Auburn schools. She was very fond of flowers 'and served' as president of the Clinton Horticultural SocietY. Miss Johnston was also a member of the Wesley - Willis United Church. She is survived by one sister Mrs. Cameron (Nina) Fotheringham of Marys and a brother Ben of Goderich. Rev. James Broadfoat conduclOd funeral 'ser- vices at the Beattie , Funeral Home in Clinton on June 18. Interment followed at , the Dungannon Cemetery. The pallbearers were Norman Hamilton, Ben Hamilton, George Feagan, John Garrick, Alvin PlAnkett and Dick Rev. Norman Pick accepted the gifts and dedicated them tO qhe Glory of God. It rained so the ladies weren't able to be out in the garden but Bess' hospitality was eiljoyed by all present.
