ACW meet
The St. James Anglican
Church Women (ACW)
met for their June
meeting at the home of
Lynda Steenstra, with
leader Lois Wise in
charge.
Mr. Wise welcomed
members, one guests and,
offered a very special
welcome to Margaret
Middleton'. •
Mrs. Wise read the
devotional and the
Scripture reading was
given by Marion Smith.
Shirley Storey read'. the
meeting minutes and the
treasurer's report was
.presented by Vera Miller.
Delores Dutot informed
the ladies that a quilt was
ready to work on. She
also noted that two bales
had been sent to the
north.
Lois Smith, foster child
secretary, reported on a
request for a poster for
the church from Com-
passion. Blanche Deeves
gave her car report and
read a thank -you note
from Mrs. Rowden.
Mrs. Wise introduced
the guest speaker,
Rosemary Armstrong,
co-ordinator at the Huron
Pay—Centre. Through a
slide presentation, the
ACW saw the work being
done there and the
volunteers were praised
for their efforts in helping
and driving patients to
the centre at Huronview.
'Mrs. Smith thanked Mrs.
Armstrong for her talk
and presented her with a
plant. Lunch was then
served by the hostess and
Vera Miller.
News and Notes
Rev. D. Pitts was in
charge of the Sunday
morning service at St.
James rAnglican Church.
Canon Paull of Bayfield
gave the sermon a itt-Ray
Wise and Edward beeves
received the -offering.
Mrs. Hazel Bulton has
been a guest with Edward
and Blanche beeves.
Hazel is a cousin of
Blanche's and hails from
Banbury, Oxfordshire,
England.
The St. James ACW
have been busy this past
week, working on another
quilt at the home of
Delores Dutot.
