Hensall Cubs "swim up"
The "Swimming Up" of
the Beavers to,Cubs was
held at the Hensall Public
School on Thursday
evening when . Jason
Clarke, Billy Touton,
John Bell, Michael

Lawrence and Bevan
Moir were welcomed to
the Cubs. Leader is Ken
Clarke assisted by Butch
Hoffman, Tammy Baker,
Barry Southcott and
Gary Beaver.
Beavers rained out
The Hensall Beaver
pack joined the Beaver
packs of Huron County at
Goderich on Saturday,
June 7 for a. Beaveree. A
good "program was
arranged, unfortunately
it was rained out.

Auxiliary meets
The final meeting of the
Hensall Ladies' Legion
Auxiliary for the summer
months was held on
Tuesday evening with the
president" Mrs. Beatice
Uyl presiding. Com-
mittees were formed for
198:0 and arrangements
finalized for the Penny
Sale. Lunch was served
and asocial hour enjoyed
by all.
Unit IV meets
Unit IV of the UCW of
the Hensall United
Church met oli Thursday
in the Fellowship Hall,
Mrs. Nan Britton, the
leader, opened the
meeting with a poem
entitled The Master
Gardener followed by
singing a hymn. Rena
Caldwell had charge of
the study period and sloe
gave the highlights of her
trip to Japan taken a few
years ago.
She spoke of the
country, their people and
work, the different
religions, their food,
churches, theatres, etc.
and also showed folders
on some of these and the
one of their beautiful
Tokyo Tower.
Sixteenmembers
answered the roll call and
Mrs. Dorothy Mickle was
secretary and pianist for
the meeting. Mrs. Mary
Roobal, card convener
reported the cards sent
for April ,and May. Mrs.
Myrtle Sherritt gave the
treasurer's report. Forty-
two visits were made by
'theltoup in May.
'The date for Alma
College is from August
10th to 13th. Mrs. Shirley
read 'a poem "The Pat-
chwork Quilt" and Mrs.
Britton gave a reading on
"The Hymns We Sing".
After singing a hymn,
, Mrs. Luther closed the
meeting with prayer.

flings to the top
GODERICH - Kim
Fritzley, the 13 -year-old
daughterof Bill and
Donna Fritzely of
Goderich, has won an
Ontario Championship in
High la-rrd-aming. Kirn
took the award ,in the
open class for dancers 15
years of age and younger
at a competition in
Toronto on June 7.
Kim will now be dan-
cing at the Canadian
Championship in
Calgary, Alberta on July
6. Two dancers in each
age category from each
province will compete.
The other Ontario
Quotable
competitor in Kim's age
group is an Ottawa girl.
Kim started taking
highland dance' lessons
seven years ago. Her
instructor was• Mary
Lynne Telford of
Godrich: Kim now travels
to Owen Sound once a
week to be instructed by.

Clinton area.
Mrs. Zonneveld said
that the girls take great
pride in their ability to
handle the Saddlebred
and _they
'training with the hunter
or basic seat. Next season
will bring a whole new
presentation
