eb un name known to golfers
By Milen4Lobb
The name Tebbutt ° is 1,
quite familiar to people in
thisarea and is becomMg
familiar in the game of
golf in the United States.
Greg Tebbutt, son of
Gerry and Shirley
Tebbutt, Bettenclorf,
Iowa, is making a name
for himself and has
proven he is the Pet-
tendorf High School Golf
Team's ace in a meet at
Emois Golf Course in.
DaveopOrt, Iowa, against
Davenport West.
greg launched a shot
which landed just behind
the. flagstick, took one
hop with the perfect
amount of backspin and
landed in the hole. A
golfer's dream come
true, ! Greg has been close

little more golfing. As
time passed and the
reports we heard showed
he was improving and
was getting invited to
Participate in tour-
n• aments, we expected to
read about his wins in the
papers.
• As a Bantam golfer (14
years of age and under)
in an 18 hole tournament
in Vietoria Park, Guelph
c'Contario, in 1976, Greg
Xebbutt froth Foothill
won the tournament in a,
srudden-cleath play-off
with Mathew Ballick of
Toronto. Both golfers
shot 76.- The Tebbutt
fa,Mily moved to Bet-
tendorf, Iowa in 1976
because Gerry was
-transferred. They bought
aliouse on the edge -"of a
golf course so Greg was
dose enough to get in all
the time he could at his
favourite sport. They say,
"practise makes per-
fect", and it looks as if
Greg is proving this true.
Although he got oft to a
slow start in '79, Greg
took medalist honors in a
tournament at Clinton
Country Club. In another
tournament in 'Sao Diego
he . played against
Nathael, son of Bing
Crosby and the winner.
was Tebbutt,
This year Greg and his
teammate Gene Elliott'
.are the two main, reasons
