The. secretary of 'next year's , Students' Council will be Wendy Bell and Susan Jeffe sono will be . the treasurer. Several' students from DHSS will be going on a four-day trip to New York City which will take place during the second week of September. The purpose of this trip is to study art history. Thestudents will be going to'. the Museum of Modern Art to view 'a a o • xcasso exhibition and various other points of interest. Even though.modern science has explained a Int of mysteries about our world, people persist in believing in superstitions. Would you walk under a ladder'' Il other colonies in the district for the first "Beaveree" ever held in •the area. Beavers were unable to complete all the activities planned for the afternoon because of bad weather but did manage to share in a scavenger hunt. All ' attending Beavers received a badge and a reminder to parents that these are to be worn on the jackets not on uniforms. The Colony wishes to thank Garry Elliott, Rose Edwards and Howard Edwards for assisting with transportation. This outing was the finale 'for the Beavers for this season and a very special thanks goes to parents and all who assisted in any way to make our first year a success. The leaders wish the Beavers a "safe sum- mer" and "busy building " for tomorrow. ,.CUBS y. On May 29 Cubs h'ad their father -son banquet. After the meal the following stars were presented: Terry Strickland, Blue Star; Jeff Roy, Red Star; Dennis Florian, Green Star, Jamie , Gibbings, David Jones and David Deicherts all Blue Stars, Skaters Badge Aaron Clogg. A number,game' was played which was won by Mrs. Ann MacLean and son Jeff and Mr. David Beattie and son Bryan. John Lavis won a prize donated by Jerry MakkLean and Sons. Dennis Florian was given a trophy. A gift was presented to Shevaco Grant Morgan as he is going to school in the fall. Our camp -out was held May 30, 31 and June 1 at Benmiller along with several other cub packs. The boys enjoyed the weekend inspite of the rain on Friday and the wird and cold on Saturday. Special thanks to our cook Karl Skov and to helpers Mr. William Hoskin and Mr. Jim Cameron. Have a good sum mer see you in the fall. Do you know? Canadian• cattle are prized round the world.
