Drag strip
in Lucknow
LUCKNOW - Residents
and councillors in
Lucknow are concerned
that one of the village
streets is turning into a
drag strip.
At their recent meeting
council heard complaints
about -',the .motorcycles
and trailbikes creating
excess noise and per-
forming dangerous stunts
on the village streets.
According to Councillor
Russell Whitby, bikers
are using one street as a
drag strip and they pull
wheel stands and drive
down the street four
abreast, disregarding
stop signs.
Other councillors said
they have received
complaints from town
residents about lawns
being ripped up by bikers
trespassing and someone
on a bike tore across the
bowling greens.
Councillor Ab Murray
said that the bikes are
coming into the village
from the country but said
all the village people can
do is to hope that the OPP
are around to lay charges
when the bikes are
performing.

It might be a good idea

casionally swap history
books, just to see what
other people are doing
with the same set of facts.
