'wore a polyester .crepe gown which featured a high neckline, sheer ° bodice and empire waist. She carried a Bible crested with red roses, baby's breath and white streamers. Her bride's dress fell into a chapel train at the back and she �-._--~wore°a--.theme=t�iere�vetl-- and a lace bandeau studded with pearls: Linda Weatherall of Chesley, a friend of the bride, was the maid of honor and Vicki 'O'Rourke of RR 4, Seaforth, a friend of the bride and Debbie Hulley of RR 1, Seaforth, a sister of the bride were the 'attendants, They wore long pale blue dresses and the bodices were blue flowered pattern. The gowns had rounded (Frank Phillips photo) Mr. and Mrs. Evereti Robinson Cs� throe neclxlines, threeaquarter length sleeves and• strng ties at the shoulder. A brother of the groom, Larry Robinson of Lucan,.. was• the best man and guests were ushered into the church by brothers of the bride, David Hulley of RR 1, Seaforth' and Robert Hulley Jr, of RR 3, Gilford, A cousin of the bride, Lail So Gardiner of, RR 1, Staffs was the flowergirl and Darell Lawrence, a nephew of the groom from Hensall .was the ringbearer. Following the ceremony a supper was served in the church parlor- and--a----reception followed at the Pineridge Chalet -near Hensall. The newlyweds vacationned in northen Ontario before returning to their farm at RR 3, Kippen. Guests attending the wedding included the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lawrence from Moosejaw, , Saskat- chewan. Guests were also present from London, Guelph, Chesley, Chatham, Sarnia and Edmonton. Special services at Huronview "The Holy Spirit directs us in surprising .ways," was the thought for the day at the Sunday - morning service, and during the afternoon, the Exeter Baptist. , Young People held a service. We heard many favourable com- ments concerning the singing at this meeting and we hope our residents will show their support by attending the services which will be held the fourth Sunday of each month at 2p.m. Our residents enjoyed old tyme music on Monday afternoon when Marie Flynn, Lorne Lawson, Wilson. McCartney, Ken Dale, along with our own Jim Ruddock, Cecil Skinner and Norm Speir provided the music. There was a little variation on Mon- day when Ken Dale. played several selections on the piano: Taking , advantage of the beautiful day, we went shopping at the mall on Wednesday morning in Goderich. Mr. and Mrs. Easton, Frank Bissett, Mrs. Muriel Gibson and Mrs. McAllister along with staff members enjoyed the outing. Wednesday afternoon, the main dining room was filled to capacity with friends and relatives of Mrs Elizabeth Scott, who was celebrating her 100th birthday. This weekend the Shriners have not forgotten us at Huron- view and have planned to send some clowns out before _ the parade to entertain our residents. We hired a big bus as well as using our van to Rebekahs hold dessert .euchre The Huronic Rebekah Lodge held their dessert euchre May 7. There was a good turnout and everyone had a good time. Noble Grand Muriel Lockhart welcomed all. Winner of the birthday closest to the day was Mary Chessell of Varna. Lucky chair prize was won by Eileanor McAsh; door prize, Rachael Reihl; ladies' high, Margaret McKee; ladies' low, Della Johnstone and the lady . with the most lone hands was Marjorie Caldwell. The meeting also featured a bake table with many delicious goodies. On Wednesday evening the ladies of Clinton Lodge travelled to Exeter to a dinner in honor of Sister Jean Henderson, District Deputy President. A ,delicious meal was enjoyed by all, followed by a meeting in the lodge hall. 1 IODEfrCanMa In Banff, Alberta on May 22, two days after a referendum vote by Quebeckers, on their ftrture, 500 IODE members unanimously reinforced their earlier statement of support for a unified Canada. These women came at their own expense from every province, the Yukon and Northwest Territores, to attend the meetings and workshops of the 80th annual meeting of the National Chapter, IODE. Earlier this year they collected thousands of signatures for a 'People to People' Petition from the rest of Canada to Quebec in support of unity. - Members also' voted fo send a letter to the Prime Minister of Canada, the Honorable Pierre E. Trudeau, expressing their wish that a standard version of '0 Canada' be adopted as our National anthem. And a letter will be sent to President Carter of the United States, offering prayers for the safe reutrn of the American hostages in Iran. Plan -to -visit with us that week and don't forget the bazaar and tea sale on June 4 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. • Xi Brucefield man dies` James Henry MacDonald A lifelong Brucefield native, James Henry MacDonald, died in Seaforth on May 28. He was 84 years old. Mr. MacDonald was born in Brucefield on December 8, 1895 to James and . Martha. MacDonald. He lived in the area all his life and worked as a farmer. He married Grace McCowan in Brucefield and was a member of the United Church in the village. He is survived by his wife and son Jack of Ottawa. Mr. MacDonald is also survived by three grandchildren and his sister Miss Emma MacDonald of Brucefield. Funeral services were held .at the Ball Funeral Home in Clinton on May 31 with Rev. Bob McMullen officiating. Interment followed in Baird's Cemetery near Brucefield.
