There is much, much
more history •than we
have space to write this
week.
It was once written that
"Clan Gregor Square cin
Bayfield, draws tourists
by the thousands,- each
year- and .the number is
steadily growing. 1t Still
continues to make
history, but while doing
so entertains the public;".
It is unfortunate that.
this year's entertainment
may be limited to the
laxity of the village
ouncil--in--tending--to the
park. Everyone passing
through the village sees
the park and mostthat
stop (in spite of it's
condition) are appalled,
as well as the villagers
that make use of the
facilities.
Grass and weeds do -not
grow to that height.
overnight and time is not
a factor either, because if
Municipal employees had
time to grade and level
private driveways last
week they sure as hell
had time to fix up Clan
Gregor Square.
There is no excuse
acceptable for not having
that park look dike a park.
Nursery
debates
.future
The pre-school group is
about to head into the last
month of operation this
year. Formed earlier this
winter the venture can be
called a success as there
are 18 children
registered.
Volunteers Ruthe
Andrew, Janet Onalik,
Cathy Scott and Helen
Latimer have been busy
oversee,ing the eager
youngsters .every
Thursday morning at the
municipal building.. The
classes which run from 9
a.m. to 11:30 a.m. have
provided stories, songs,
games and crafts for the
children:
When the classes end in
June the pre-school group
will be holding a meeting
to decide whether per-
manent staff will be hired
when "school" opens up
again in September. At
present all the help is
volunteer.
The outcome will be
decided by the demand
and amo Int of interest
shown for the con-
tinuation of the Bayfield
Nursery School.
