united in marriage at
Trinity Anglican Church
in Bayfield on. Saturday_,
May 24.
The groom is the
youngest son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon of
Bayfield and the bride is
the eldest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Huffman
of Bayfield.
Rev. G. Youmatoff
conducted the wedding
ceremony and Jacki
Johnston provided the
music on the organ.
Crystal Huffman, sister
of the bride, was maid of
honor. The groom was
Cubs
get awards
Parents attended the
regular Cub meeting last
week for the awards and
presentation ceremonies.
Awards_ were determined
by a point system for the
past year. The best Six,
was the Blue Six whose
members were Ian
Siertsema, Thomas
Whittaker, Mark
Westlake and Jeremy
Durand,
.Tap , points for the
season went to Doug Roy
who received a trophy,.
and Ian Siertsema who
received a medallion.
Derek Bradshaw and
Robert Francistied for

third place. Parents
joined in the games which
followed and a lunch was
served of cookies and
Kool-Aid, courtesy of the,
Ladies Auxiliary.
Cub Leader Carol
Fisher's home will be the
meeting place on Friday
evening 'at 6 ,p.m. when
the Cubs will leave for the
weekend at the District
Camp at the Benmiller
Falls Conservation area.
It will be a large camp as
it includes Cubs from
three districts this year,
not just one as formerly.
The Cubs will return to
Bayfield by 3 p.m,' on,
Sunday.

be southward bound on
their honeymoon and will

Mr. Bill Parker paid a
visit to Victoria Hospital
in London .to snake the
acquaintance of his first
grandchild, Jeremy

the son of Kevin and
Pamela Hodgins of
Dorchester.
Mildred and Bill
Parker of London
travelled by train to
Edmonton recently to
visit Mildred's brother,
Jack Fraser there. They
also visited with
Spooner and their baby
daughter, Sarah Yvonne.
Elizabeth is Jack
Fraser's daughter.
Ivan Steckle and
George Clark went to
Detroit to pay their
respects to an old friend,
Lee Etue, who was born
in this area and went, as a
young man, to Detroit.
They were saddened to
learn ' of the death of a
friend whom they knew
so well many years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric
Pemberton, their son and
daughter, Mary and
Martin and their friends,
Amanda Luxeon and
Andrew Duggan visited
with Eric's mother, Mrs.
Gwen Pemberton on the
weekend.
We are .sorry to hear
that Mr. Keith Easton has
been readmitted to
Victoria_ Hospital for
tests. We hope he will be
back home again. soon.

ideal conditions for both
the sailors and spectators
alike at the Bayfield
sailboat races. The
Spring Series third race
got underway at 10 a.m.
