The• guests brought. novelty gifts :and also brought donations for lunch and to quote the bride "This is a better spread than we had at the wedding reception". The grand finale of the evening was the presentation of a beautiful plant and hanger. This brought on a few tears and the bride who's name, by the way, is Esther was a very happy ladywhen she left. Hit and run veha MITCHELL- Mitchell police are seeking assistance in their search for a vehicle believed to have ,been involved in a hit and run incident on May 9. A car owned by Mar- jorie Issacs of Mitchell was parked, outside Jack's Radio. and Television about 8:50 Friday night when it was struck by an unknown vehicle, believed to by light blue in color. E Benny Bjerg, a former Vanastra resident now living near Zurich has always wanted a gas barbeque. On Monday his wish came true when he won a bar- beque in a Vanastra Lioness draw. Mr. Bjerg eagerly excepted his prize from the Lioness club's second vice president June Jeacock and the first vice president Myrna Smith. The draw was also a happy occasion for the 'Lioness group and theme-raisedbover $120 to put towards community work. Varna ball schedules set by Mary Chessell , A new ball team from Highway 21, the Bluewater Lakers, has joined the South Huron Slo-Pitch League. It becomes the second team from Stanley Township in the league, the Stanley Steamers being the other. The Stanley Steamers' home gatnes will be on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. at the Stanley ball park near Varna. The Bluewater Lakers will play their home games on Sundays at 8 p.m. at the same park. The following is the schedule for both teams. Ross and Nancy Whittaker and family moved last weekend to a house on the former Ross farm, owned by the Carnochans. There are quite a number of homes for sale at present. Marjorie Stirling returned home last Friday after having surgery two weeks ago in London. Her many friends wish her a speedy return to good health. Whoops!
