annual9 plant and bulb
sale last Tuesday evening
'in the Community
Memorial Hall with a
good attendance of
members and friends.
The president, Mrs. Ross
Robinson, was in charge
and the meeting was
opened with 0 Canada
with Mrs. Donald Haines

'instead of the track for a few moments as three Grand Valley Skydivers from
Toronto under the direction of Vic Borghes jumped from an airplane and
stacked their rectangular parachutes on top of each other before landing.

The Auburn
Presbyterian Women's
Missionary Society met
for its May meeting at the
home of Mrs. Lillian
Letherland. President,
Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson,
was in charge of the
meeting and gave the
Call to Worship followed
by the hymn, "0 Master
,Lot Me Walk With 'T, Thee.'
After welcoming the
members, the devotional
period was taken by Mrs.
Roy Daer. Her theme
was, "Life in the Spring
Time" and Mrs. Frances
Clark read several
passages of scripture
relating' to this theme.
Mrs. Daer gave the
meditation, followed by
prayer.
The roll call was an-
swered by a Bible verse'
containing the word,
spring.
Mrs. Daer gave a
reading, "Let Us Make a
Garden". The hymn,
"God Moves in a
Mysterious Way", was
read unison.The minutes were
approved as read by the
secretary, Mrs. Lillian
Letherland. Mrs.
Frances Clark gave .the
financial statement and
the offering was received
by Mrs. Clark and
, dedicated with prayer by
Mrs. Eleanor Bra.dnock.
The Mission Study was
on the life of Mrs.
Catherine McMullen and
the work that she and her
husband, Clarence do in
India. She had been the
special missionary
speaker at the Hamilton
and London Synodical
held recently at Brant-
ford. Mrs. Bradnock gave
_the highlights of the
conference and also the
Huron Presbyterial held
at Goderich that day.
The meeting was closed
with the hymn, "0 Lord
of Heaven, Earth and
Sea" and the benediction.
Lunch was served by
Mrs. Letherland.
Hoimesville's seniors meet
by Blanche Deeves
The Enterprising
Seniors met in the
Holm ville Church on
May Iwith John Deeves
presiding and Charlotte
Norman at the piano.
John welcomed
everyone to the meeting
including four new
members and Irene
Cudmore read the
minutes of the last
meeting. Fran Powell
presented the treasurer's
report and Blanche
Deeves gave her card and
sick report.
Correspondence was
read by Irene Cudmore
and an invitation to
Huronview for dinner
was accepted for June 17.
A discussion was held
on sending a delegate to
United Senior Citizens of
Ontario's convention,
1980. A motion was made
to cancel June 5 meeting
and instead the group will
meet June 19 in the school
and hold an auction sale
and members are asked
to bring articles.
John Deeves presented
the Star Member Cer-
tificate and Senior Citizen
certificates which he had
framed and donated to
the club. A vote of thanks
to John was given by
Marion Smith on behalf of
the club.
A phoning committee
was formed and includes
Irene Cudtnore, Grace
Walter and Blanche
Deeves. A nominating
committee was also
formed being Irene
Cudmore, Grace Walter
and Mervyn Lobb. Alva
and Ray Cox are the
entertainment committee
for June 19 meeting.
Marion Powell adjourned
the meeting and Fran
Powell showed films on
British Columbia. Marion
Powell had the group
play a game and the
winners were Irene
Cudmore and Ed Deeves.
Lunch was served by
Marion Powell and Grace
Walter.

held in Holmesville
United Church on Sunday
and the theme of Mr.
Oestreicher's sermon.

Mrs. Gertrude Feagan
spent a day with Barb
and Alvin Betties. Alvin
and Barb Betties spent
the weekend at Pitchpine
Island, off Gananoque as
guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Snell.
T -ball players wanted
Wanted are all T -ball
players, ages 5 to 9 years
and excellent coaches are
also needed to complete
the two tykes teams to
compete with other
townships. Three boys
and two girls are needed
10 11 years old or those
who turn 12 after January
This is the last chance
'to sign. up the children, as
they will be starting to
play ball the following
week. There's an ex-
cellent coaching staff and
parental participation
with T -ball is en-
couraged. So come on out
and enjoy the summer
with the children. For

swimming for the two
week period beginning on
June 30, Monday to
Friday 9:30 to 11 a.m. can
pick up the forms from
the school. Please send in
applications soon as it
will be a first come, first

be held at the Vanastra
Recreation Centre.
