TERRANCE McKELLAR B.C. wedding A pretty military wedding took place at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 1980 in St. Dunstan Angl- ican Church, ' Victoria, B.C. ' when._ Annetta Laurine MacCrostie, only. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MacCrostie, RR5 Goderich was united in marriage to Lieut. Col. Terrance Wayne McKellar, only son of Mrs. W. and the late Russel McKellar of Victoria. The groom is currently Commanding Officer of .the Canadian Scottish -Regiment (Princess -Ma-ry . . Major, the Reverend Wm. Lunny performed the double ring' ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father and givers in marriage by her parents. She wore a gown of satin chiffon extending to a full cathedral train. From the high Mandarin collar plunged a low V of net • lace insert em- broidered with Rhinestones and pearls, and edged with wide guipure lace. The back also with a low scalloped net lace insert, as well as. the long lace sleeves, was embroidered in the same fashion. She wore. a full cathedral veil edged with Nottingham lace and carried a shower -bouquet of American Beauty roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Miss .:Joyce Nykarnp,-._ Comox (formerly of Clinton, Ontario) was maid of honour, wearing a yellow gown with ac- cordion pleated skirt and lace bertha collar. She carried abouquet of white daisies, yellow mums and daffodils'. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Joanne Mackie, Sechelt and Miss Linda Johnston, Pemberton. Both Were gowned similar to the maid of honour. The flowergirl was Shannon- Osland of Victoria wearing white eyelet trimmed ' with yellow ribbon • and carrying a basket of yellow mums and white -daisies. The groom was at- tended by Maj. Ken Ward, and the ushers were Capt. Barry Rigler, Second Lieut. Tim Riley, Lieut. Derek Brown, all of Victoria and Mr: Dale MacCrostie, Kincardine, Ont. The groom, groomsman and three ushers were attired in regimental ceremonial dress,,highlighted by the Hunting Stewart plaid..., Mr. Dale MacCrostie wore a black tuxedo, and the ring .bearer, ' Christopher Talbot of Victoria, a kilt of the Hunting Stewart. , The wedding party was piped from the church by Pipe Major Steven Kelly and passed through an arch of crossed claymores presented by ten regimental - serving officers. Pipes arid drums of the Canadian Scottish Regiment entertained the 350 guests prior to the reception in the officers' mess and bountiful smorgasbord dinner served on the balcony. For greeting the relatives and friends, the bride's , mother chose . a gown of green polyester knit with a corsage of pink roses. Assisting her was the groom's mother in sky blue knit with the same pink corsage. Master of ceremonies for the evenin_g_-was Maj. Peter Montague and- the toast to the bride was proposed by her great uncle, Mr. Elwell Web- ster of Wingham, Ont. For the honeymoon ' the bride changed to a pink suit with black lace camisole and black picture hat with two pink silk roses on the brim. Other black accessories and a corsage of white roses completed her outfit. Prior to her marriage she. was honored at a shower given. by the students of Pemberton Secondary School and a going away party and shower by the staff of the same school. - Mrs. Aubrey Toll of Blyth, Ontario, aunt of the bride, and daughters Mrs.- Tom Cronin and Mrs. Al Corniel entertained the relatives__ at a money shower in honour of Annette. The bridal party was entertained at the groom's home following the rehearsal. Mr. and Mrs. IVIcKeIlar are residing at 1269 Persimmon Close, Victoria. The groom is on the staff of -Belmont Secondary School and the bride is employed with the Cascade Organ and Piano Company. Guests were present from Saskatoon, Sask.,. Tacoma, Wash., USA; Pemberton, Vancouver, Campbell River, Nanaimo and Ontario. Included were the Hon. David Munro, MP and Maj. -Gen. John Rockingham, C.B., C.B .E.; D.S.D., C.D. Those attending from Ontario besides Annette's parents were her brother, his 'wife and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dale MacCrostie and Pamela, Kincardine; Miss Carol MacCrostie, Mrs. Dorothy McKenzie, Miss Peggy Gordon, Lucknow; Mr. and Mrs. Elwell Webster, Wingham; Mr. and Mrs. Ford Little, Bayfield; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shields and Miss Olive Shields and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Reaburn, Goderich. Attending with, their parents were other members of the Reaburn family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Maureen) Griffin and Corp. and Mrs. James Reaburn, Surrey, B.C. The president, Mrs. Robert McAllister, was in charge_ lict 'Qpozeji, thg_ rineeting with the hymn, God Who Touchest Earth With Beauty. ..Mrs. • Clayton Edward was the pianist. - Mlss. Ida White, president of Arthur Circle welcomed all. Members of the Hensall W.M.S. took the devotional period. Mrs. Earl Campbell read the scripture passages, Mrs, Harvey Hyde followed the theme; "Have -you done your spring cleaning in relation to the spiritual life?" Mrs. Rochus Faber led in praYer. Mrs. G. L. Royal, delegate to Hamilton - London synodical at Brantford, gave a complete report of the two-day sessions with the theme, "The Challenge of the Eighties". Solos, "Down from His Glory" and "I am not Worthy" were sung by ' Mrs. Robert McCallum, accompanied by Mrs. Clayton Edward. -Auxiliary Blossom The minutes of the annual Meeting I2eld in January were accepted as read by the secretary, Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock. A letter from Taiwan was read . regardingthe persecution of Chrisians there. The treasurer, ° Mrs, G. G. MacEwan, gave the financial statement,, Mrs. Jean Munshaw of Luckno.w, educational. consultant, spoke a few words. and Mrs, Fred Salter had set up a very interesting book display. It was announced that Miss Ida . Wh, °Mrs. will be attending the Jean Munshaw and Mrs. • H. L. Nugent of, Ripley , Conference for Women at Carleton University on .May 0, 3Land J.uitene.l.-- Mrs,. - T, J. Duke of Seaforth introduced the guest speaker of the afternoon, Mrs. H. L. Nugent of Ripley. She gave an interesting and illustrative message of caring and sharing in the work of the Women's Missionary society, for the Challenge of the eighties. The slides she showed were very colorful and meaningful. Mrs. Clayton Edward gave the report of the council meeting held recently at E wart College with , the theme, "Growth". There were 84 plans Tea Hui review' Auxiliary — Mrs " -Mary beings attended the meeting and presented a letter from District 3 Homes for the Aged and invited delegates to attend a meeting at Cambridge on May 22. It was decided to have Mrs. Lockhart and Mary Clairmont represent Huronview. Mrs. Powell presented an afghan to Mrs. Gib- bings as a gift from the Goderich Township Women's Institute for the residents' use. The ladies of the Auxiliary would very much appreciate any donations for the bake table for the Blossom Tea at Huronview on June 4. met on May 19 and Mrs. Leona -Lockhart opened the meeting. Mrs. E. Webster read the minutes in the ab- sence of Mrs. J. Griffiths and roll call was an- swered by 12 members. Mrs. Marion Powell gave the treasurer's report and Mrs. Lockhart reported on the prizes coming in for the bingos. For the birthday parties the Tiger Dunlop group is responsible for May and Hensall will look after them in June. Plans were made for the Blossom Tea on June 4 from 2-4 p.m. i delegates from Quebec to British Columbia present and missionaries spoke to them. At Old Tyme Music on Monday afternoon, Mr. Wilson McCartney, Mr. Ken, Dale and Mrs Lorne Lawson assisted Mrs. Marie Flynn with the music. Clothes Caravan was at Huronview on Tuesday giving residents a chance to browse and shop among the good selection of clothing and a mini fashion show was held so that clothes bought could be viewed by - all. Mrs. Florence Flood was the lucky winner of a lounge robe drawn at the close. Mr. Archibald came Thursday morning to do woodworking with the men.
