Cubs .and Scouts
This week he Cabs and
Scouts met together at
the Reo. Centre to watch,
some films. The first one
grasped their attention
and they really enjoyed it

Centre needs more funds

Tuckersmith Township is about half
way to its goal of raising its share of
$62,820 to pay for the addition and
renovations to the Vanastra
Recreation Centre.
The township has raised $30,341 so
far, according to Tuckersmith clerk,
Jack McLachlan, Individuals have
donated $2,088, service clubs $5,968,
companies $2,335, foundations $150,
and there has been$19,000 raised in

The total cost of the projectis about
$283,000. Of that, the Community
Recreation Centre's Act will pay_
$187,000 and Wintario will grant about
$30,000. The project is due to be
completed in mid-June, said
McLachlan.
The addition to the centre will
enlarge the building by about one
third. The new part will include an

Presbyterian WMS
The Women's
Missionary Society of
Carmel Presbyterian
Church met on May 5,.
with president Mrs.
Harvey Hyde conducting
the meeting.
Plans were completed
for the WMS 90th . an-
niversary and the Arnold
_Circle Evening
Auxiliary's 50th birthday
on June a.-Mrs--Eig1ert is
to be the guest speaker.
An invitation was
received from the
Hensall UCW to attend
their meeting on June 2,
when Mrs. Jean Moffatt
of Waterloo will speak on
Amnest International.
The next business
meeting will be held June
9. To finish the meeting,
Mrs. Hyde read a prayer
by Chief Dan George.
Ladies Aid
President Mrs. Al
Hoggarth presided at the
Ladies' Aid meeting on
May 5. Mrs. Hyde gave
the treasurer's report
and Mrs. John Bell gave a
report of the card and
flower committee. Mrs.
Ruby Bell reported for
the quilt group.
Amber Lodge
The regular meeting of
the Amber Rebekah
Lodge was held on. May 7
with Noble Grand Mrs.
Hazel Corbett presiding,
assisted by Vice Grand

who reported for the
