tertained the visitors with
their campfire songs.

Tuckersmith UCW

Tuckersmith Unit 1 met
on May 12 and Mrs. Doris
Sillery and Mrs. Grace
Chapman` led the
Devotions. Mrs. Sillery
opened with a poem and
Mrs. Ann Broadfoot
played . the . piano. Mrs.
Chapman read the
scripture and Mrs: Sillery
closed with a prayer.
Mrs. Hazel McCartney
chaired the business
portion and welcomed all
and gave a special
welcome to the visitors to
the meeting. The minutes
were read by Mrs.
Beatr ice Stoll and 14
members and six visitors
answered the roll call.
Mrs. Vina Berry gave
the treasurer's report
and Mrs. Violet Ross.re_ad___.
a thank you card from
Mrs. Russell Dallas: An
invitation was extended
from Hensall United
Church for June 2 and
plans were completed to
cater to the meal for the
Lee -Tomkins wedding on
May 17.
Ladies were asked to
remember Visitors Day
Stine 3 in the church and
the next meeting to be
held June 9 and everyone
is asked to bring an an-
tique and tell its -history.
The evening closed

Hare with a lovely solo,
and a solo by Mr. Dong
Talbot, which he
dedicated to the two.

Mrs. Muriel Snider and
Miss Shirley Keys were
commended for their
beautiful musical con- •
tributions, not only for
this service but for their
faithfulness ` at the piano
and organ every Sunday.

Church celebrated. Holy
Communion on Sunday at
two services. Assisting in

Middieton ACW discuss May bus trip

The May meeting of the
ACW of St. James Church
was held in Dungannon at.
the home of Marion
Smith, Audrey Mid-
dleton, leader in charge,
welcomed--everyoneM -and„
thanked Marion for
having the meeting in her
home. Mrs. Sarah Storey
read the Invocation and
scripture reading.
Audrey then conducted
the business of the.
meeting .with Shirley
Storey giving the
secretary's -report and
Vera -Miller presented the
treasurer's report.
Blanche Deeves gave
her report on the booth at
the Clinton Fair .and
tickets for the comforter.
Mrs. Sarah Storey gave a
short report,pr1: the ACW
annual . meeting in
London.
The card report was
Bradley Cann of RR 3,
Exeter will graduate on
May 23 from the
Ridgetown College of
Agriculture with an
agricultural production
and management
diploma, field crops and
livestock major. Bradley
also received the most
personable student
award.

letter from Marilyn Cox
who is seeking support
for Cross Roads, Africa
on: her trip to the West
Indies where she will be
tutoring young children
in 'poor district. A
donation of $50 was sent
by the ACW and they are
looking forward to
hearing -.from. Marilyn -on-
her return. -
The baby bale -was on
display with a good
number of articles to
send. A silent auction was
held with a good supply of
homemade bread,

cookies, fancy loaves and
cushions. Lunch was
served by the hostess and
Blanche Deeves.

Seniors of Goderich
—Township -and- area- will -
meet in the Holmesville
Church May 15, at 8 p.m.
St. James - Church,
looked lovely with
flowers on the altar and
in the church which were
placed by Audrey Mid-
dleton, Delores Dutot and
Sarah Storey. Reader for
the lesson was Audrey
Middleton. The theme of
Rev. Bennett's sermon
was The Weather, and the
offering was taken up by
Mr. and 'Mrs. Edward
Deeves.

Come. The„ACW of St.
James are taking a bus
trip to Toronto on May 26
and are leaving Clinton at
8 a.m. They will visit the
Metro Zoo, Casa Loma
and Ed's Warehouse
Restaurant where men
must have tie and

Edward and Lois Wise
attended the 19th annual
Toronto and District
Square and Round Dance
convention held 1 in
Hamilton at McMaster
University.- There were
3,000 dancers from all
over- Ontario and the
United States. There
were • six couples at-
tending from the Clinton
Wheel and Dealers.
