The Second Brownie
Pack met on Wednesday
April 30 at, the Public
School. The tester, Mrs.
Makin came and many
girls passed their badge
work.
Those who passed were

Sherri Preszcator, Kerry
Cox, Melisa Whalen,
Theresa Josling„ Dawn
Powell, Gina Mustard,
Lori Jewitt, Jodi
Mustard, Lauralee
Johnston and Sherri
Desch. Congratulations
to et the girls and thanks
to Mrs. Makin for coming
to test -them.
Several girls also
completed their pictures
and have finished work
for the Golden Bar. These
are Debra Lyn Reidy,
Tressa Barnes, Sherri
Preszcator, Adrienne
Bartlett, and Lori Jewitt.
Cookie money was
collected and we were
pleased that all girls had
brought it.
The Brownies did an
excellent job of selling
cookies and had a lotof
work taking orders.and
delivering them. The
Brownies then started
working, on their craft for
Mother's Day, which they
will finish next week.
2nd Clinton Pack - On
Wednesday April 23 the
Brownies met at the
Public School, It was
enrolment for our three
Tweenies. Commissioner
Joyce Irwin enrolled
Colleen Gower, Kerri Cox
and Sherri Desch and
then each was taken to
her new group by her
Sixes.
The Brownies played
many games and were
joined by the mothers of
our new Brownies. Lunch
was served to" everyone
by the Golden Bar girls.
Next- Wednesday will be
test day for all the
Brownies.

Make Your Own Stage
Design your own mini theatre and create your own plays' You can
put on shows for your family and friends.
To make a mini stage you need
1. a box — any we
2. scissors
3. glue or tape
4. sticks
5 things to make people and the set
with — see below for ideas
Directions:
I Get the hox ready The Fox you need for this protect should has e
four sides and bottom. It doesn't need a lid and can he any sire sou
want. With the scissors make a long slit in the side of the hox you
would like to the bottom of the stage.
2. Make the set A set is the background or scenery of a stage Some
things you can use to make the set are oldrscraps of material. sticks.
leaves, flowers, sand. crayons, paints. pens. pencil, and cotton
halls. Make a picture in the bottom of the hox with these things
3. Make the characters for your play. Use the same things you used
to make the set and create stick people. Glue arms and legs onto the
stick, making sure that you have enough of the stick left over to
held -onto. Dress your characters any way you like: they can he
animals. boys. girls. adults or monsters. Slip your .stick people ,
through the slit you made in the box.
4 Act out actors Place the hox on the edge of a table. stand behind
it, and mose the stick people to act out any story you like

ceremony" and so
became the colony's first
"backward night". Back-
ward uniforms, games
and relays combined to
make a fun evening for
the Beavers. Story time
was a special treat this.

with' the opening
ceremony and a
reminder to the Beavers
that next week May 14, is
Hobo Night. Father or
parent is to accompany
their son in hobo attire
and bring along a treat or

A reminder also that
the Huron District
Camporee will be held for
the Beavers at Benmiller,
May 31, 1980 from 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m. They must be
registered by May 12,
1980 so please let Mary
Freeman know at 482-
7405 as soon as possible if
you have not already
done so. Registration will
be 50 cents.
Also • registration
deadline for the Beaveree
at the Bluewater Centre
in Goderich is May 17,
1980. This Beaveree will
be held Saturday, June 7,
1980 from 1 to 6 p.m. so
please return your
permission slip to the
next meeting.
CUBS: The Cubs
divided into groups to
play basketball and
dodge ball before
discussing "Trees for
Canada" to be held May
10. The oldest sneers and
seconders past and
present will be involved
in the planting of the
trees. Cubs are to be at
the church at 9 a.m, with
pail and shovel.

Participating Scouts
are reminded that
Saturday is Phase 2 of
"Trees for Canada" and
those boys involved
should be on hand at 9:00
a.m. sharp to assist the
Cubs.
