Marilyn Kreuter and
family of Rostock.

Line brooinball team who
won awards at the
Seaforth League's
banquet in the Recreation
Centre at Brussels are as

awards (presented by
coach Janet Graham),
Bonnie Dowson and Anne
Graul.
A Resource Workshop
was held in the United
Church in Wingham on
the weekend. Those at-
tending the music, audio-
visual, curriculum, etc.
workshops on Friday
night were Dianne Kir-
ton, Mildred McAsh,
Shirley Hill and Anna
Keys. On Saturday,
Margaret (Mrs. Gerald)
Hayter and Dianne at-
tended the Youth Groups
workshop.
Euchre draws
80 players
A capacity crowd of 20:
tables filled the township
hall in Varna to sample
the 'desserts made by the
United Church Women,
and to play progressive
euchre. The support
shown this venture was
greatly appreciated by
the UCW and the com-
mittee of Shirley Hill,
Joan Stephenson,
Mildred McAsh and
Debbie Rathwell, who did
the planning and setting
up.
They would *also like to
thank the bake sale
clerks, Pat and Lorraine
Taylor, who were kept
busy pricing two long
tables of baking which
was quickly soldafter the
card party. The high
score for cards was won
by Mrs. Roy Swartz of
Exeter. Low prize went to
Leisa Stephenson. Marg
Therndyke-of Clinton--had-
the most lone hands.

were won by Mona
Stephenson, Eileen
Townsend,,Mary
Broadfoot, Cara John-
ston, Mrs. Roy Swartz,
Jean Bell, Shirley

closest- to the date of the
party. Ida Godkin has the
greatest number of
grandchildren, Jean
Lindsay the newest
grandchild, and Eleanor
Coleman had the most
buttons on her dress.

The May meeting of the
United Church Women is
tonight, when the annual
plant sale will follow the
worship service and
business meeting.
Anyone who is interested
in obtaining plants, house
or garden varieties, is
welcome to attend.
The Bluewater
Regional Newspaper
':Network held an ex-
cellent seminar for
,correspondents in Clinton
on Friday. Your
correspondent attended,
so hopefully there should
be so`me improvement in
the Varna column.
About 75 or 80 members
of the Stirling and the
Rathwell families
gathered at Huron
Centennial' School,
Brucefield, on Friday
evening to honor Bob and
Marjorie Stirling on the
occasion of their 40th
wedding anniversary.
Mary Wood, who had
throat surgery recently,
was readmitted °to
hospital last Wednesday
night, but returned home
on Saturday.
You are reminded that
a bale of good used
clothing will be packed at
the church next week. It
will be delivered to the
London City Mission.
