Was, a large crowd in attendance last Wednesday • ,night at 'Hallett Central School for the spring concert. Principal . Angus McLEnnan welcomed everyone present and the concert opened with a performance by the school band. Te kindergarten class. 2 gave a rhythm band number, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the Grade 1 class presented All About Spring. The kindergarten class 2r performed an action verse, 12 Little Rabbits and sang Happy Little Bunny. Song of the Environment was put on - by the Grade 2 class and Grades 7•and 8 performed the operetta entitled Virtue and Justice Triumph Again. Neighborly news • Several from °the community attended the home sewing and fashion show put on in Clinton last Wednesday night. The event was sponsored by Mary's Sweing Centre and proceeds from the show went to charity. The Londesboro Women's Institute held a .,..._bake sale. and money raised from it went to th nd notes of days last Week with Mr. and Mrs, Jim Alexander, David and '-Susan in Islington. United church Ruthann Penfound and Gordon Shobbrook greeted the congregation at the Londesboro United Church on Sunday morning. The ushers were Neil Cartwright, Bob ' Penfound, Donald Reid and Bruce Hunking. Rev. Scott ..welcomed everyone and announced that the truck from Goodwill Industries in London will be at the church on Saturday af- ternoon, April, 26, to pick up bales of used clothing, appliances and other articles. This Sunday the church service will be held at 10 am since daylight savings time goes into. effect on Saturday night. Rev. Scott hoped that a number of people would �'be-attending the Crusade Special in the Blyth Memorial.Hall from April 27 to May 4. Rev. Scott expressed . thanks- from he and his wife for,. the concern shown to them and the many cards they received during their; bereavement. For the children's story Rev. Scott spoke about What children should do when they. have a problem. He explained that Jesus gave children parents to help them. The Brandons celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a special fancily dinner at.the ,home of their grandson Gregory Brandon of RR 4, Clinton. Some farmers in the area are busy seeding some barley and were out planting..on Saturday.-, Hallett happenings Field Trip On April 9, Mary Anderson, Dennis ty Schneider, Bradley Lyon, and Carolyn Watt went with Mr. Johnston to his trap line. They wathced an animal being skinned. The trip was very in- teresting and educational. Slides Shown On Friday, April 11, Dawn Bronson of the, Maitland Valley Con- servation area showed slides to the Grade 8 class. The Conservation area is sponsoring a scrap -book contest for anyone who wants to enter it. Spring Concert On. April 14 at 1 p.m. the students from kin- dergarten 2, grade 1,' Mrs. Hoernig's class, junior choir and the grade 7 and 8 classes took part . in the dress rehearsal for the .rest of the school to see. The Operetta that the Grades 7 and 8 classes put on was a great suc- cess. For friends and relatives a concert was held on April 16 at 8:15. On the night of the con- cert everyone gathered in the auditorium to watch the presentation. It was a good turn -out and everyone enjoyed the performance. Huron Landscaping Ltd.
