Mrs. Bradnock thanked all who had helped at the Huronview' birthday party and read an in- vitation to attend the salad luncheon and -card party on April 30 at 1 p.m. of the. Tiger Dunlop Branch at Carlow, which was accepted. The card report was given by Mrs. Lillian Letherland and she stated that 68 cards had been sent during the year. Mrs. Donald Cart- wright, leader of Auburn I, 4-H club stated that the spring project is com- pleted and 12 girls had finished projects. There's obviously some truth in Mrs. Wiltse's philosphy for this attractive lady just celebrated her 90th birthday with over 100 friends and relatives. Mrs. Wiltse had a busy afternoon on April 22 as she greeted many long-time friends and neighbors, received lovely gifts and enjoyed a special cake and -'luneheon birthdayparty held in her honor. --Th-afternoon party -was-held he-©ntari-cr Street United Church in Clinton where Mrs. Wiltse has been a member for many years and was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs.` Wiltse has been living at Huronview for.,the last few years, but she was born in Hullett Township and has lived in the area all her life. Alongwith many friends, Mrs. Wiltse said that hard work has made her life a long andhappy one. She and her late husband Milton Wiltse were married on June 4, 1913 and spent over 60 years together. They operated a farm on Highway 4, south of Clinton until 1946, when they moved to Clinton. Until this year Mrs. Wiltse has enjoyed quilting, but eye problems have forced her to give up this hobby. Her days are still active though, and Mrs. Wiltse takes in many of the events at Huronview and enjoys the company of her many friends, two daughters, Mrs. Lois (Cecil) Elliott of Clinton and Mrs. Mildred (Ross). Merrill of Bayfield and her five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The Auburn and -- District Lions Club met in the Auburn Community Memorial Hall with Bill Crawford in charge. There were 16 members present, four guests from the Blyth Lions Club and three guest members from the Ripley Lions Club. The dinner raffle was won by Lion Rick Smith from Blyth. The secretary's report was given by Bob Worsell and the financial statement was given by Lion Jim Schneider. Plans for the ' ball tournament in July were reported to be proceeding well. and the club's auction sale will be held on May lath at the Community Memorial Hall . Anyone having any articles to donate please contact Doug Chamney. The correspondence was read by Lion Bill Crawford. The guest speaker for the evening was Lion Keith Richmond of Blyth who was introduced by Steve Campbell and thanked by Fred Lawrence. Lion Keith presented October membership awards pins to Jim . Schneider and Gordon Daer. Also 16 other members were presented with 100 per- cent attendance awards pins.
