Watch this column for news of the next dance and be sure and get a ticket. Scouts This week, the boys practiced some first aid and discussed camp. The boys were told to get together to plan a menu for camp and work an some ideas for simulating • an accident which is to be a part of their programme for this year's camp. Brownies On Saturday, April 12, three—car- loads =of Brownies attended a craft session at the Goderich High School. - The whole morning consisted of making -- crafts, learning new songs and games and enjoying a half hour of viewing slides from Mexico. Our Brownies really enjoyed themsleves, and the Brownie leaders would like to thank those mothers for helping out. School news A little over a week ago,. Mrs. Barbara pity Howson was at the school and spoke to Our Junior grade pupils on the role of the Canadian Canker _;Society. As a follow up to her visit, our older: pupils are presently trying to produce a mural that depicts the idea of "Hope". This mural .will be used to help decorate the location of the Cancer Society's Annual -Fashion Show. - Alternate picture packages are ondisplay at the school. We welcome yo`ir comments. –We- wail -alike to remind everyone that Mr. Hingley will be at the school on Friday, April 25th to do retakes. Our Ukulele Club has started again. At the moment we are busy trying to tune our new instruments. It is hoped that by Education week, the strings will stop stretching. On Saturday April 26th from 9 a.m. until 12 noon there will be a bike rodeo in Clinton at the arena. The Optimist Club of Clinton has .extended an invitation to any of our pupils who wish to par- ticipate. Houseleague Bor- denball has started this week. Mr. Nicholls and Mrs. Pepper are the teachers in charge of the basketball lead up ac- tivity. As you know our Lioness volunteer their time to entertain these youngsters': 'Snacks are provided as well as music ' to dance to, up to now the children have really appreciated their night out, • but alas, last week was utter chaos. (photo by Verne Sawyer) Hensall hosts seniors The Hensall Three Links senior citizens met in the hall for a pot luck supper on Tuesday evening. A sumptuous meal was enjoyed by all, after which the president conducted the meeting. The president an- nounced the Zone Rally being held in the Hensall United Church on April 30th with registration commencing at 9:30 a.rn. and urged everyone to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Payne extended an in- vitation to the members to an Open House ob- serving their wedding • anniversary_ April )9 from.2:30 to4:30p.m. Mr's. Ruby Bell in- troduced the speaker, Harry Baker of Bayfield, president of Zone No. 8 of the USCO who gave a I most informative address on duties of officers and members and privileges of being in the Golden Years. Mrs. Bell thanked Mr. Baker for his out- standing address. Brucefielders home from south By Jean Taylor Doris and Erwin Sillery returned home on Sunday from a very enjoyable five week holiday in the Western provinces. They visited with relatives and friends in Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and spent several days with their son Larry, Pauline and Angie Sillery Two Cubs given ba es '1'he__meetingopened .as__ always with• the grand howl. The boys .went to their. lairs for inspection.. We played some games and "Bagheera" showed us how to make our bedroll for camp. Per- mission slips and gear lists were sent home for camp. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dalrymple are home from Florida with a fine tan. UCW meet Unit 3 held their' April meeting with the topic -Spring, taken by Doriria McBeath and Jean Taylor..
